@threadstarter: no matter what, fz wont give you 40-45 mileage constantly. If you want mileage please walk away.
Maintenance cost isn't high for fz.

i have heard that FZ give less mileage.
@ thread starter: check that mileage, otherwise since you like FZ more than any other bike, you can try that.
with 85,000 in my hand i would have blindly gone for P220...the big daddy of indian sports bikes (thats the on-road price of P220 in pune), but thats my personal opinion.Comment

If you want to go with hunk, go ahead. It ticks most boxes and top end is one of the best among this side of 150.
Also the new extreme/hunk has been launched with kick starter. Yesterday, it was launched and i have confirmed from the showroom guys as my friend is buying an extreme and he is getting with the kick.
Hero is presently going on a launching sphere as it has already launched the Passion-x- pro and is running on bhubaneswar road.
Also the hybrid scooter, LEAP, is already displayed in showroom.Hero is getting aggressive with launches and will launch more new bikes.
Regarding brakes the new hunk/extreme comes with bybre brakes and have excellent stopping and feel like FZS or any other bike.If your heart says HUNK go for it as if you buy any other bike and a hunk passes you, you will always feel that what if i had bought that. So go with your heart.
Present 150 cc bikes are well balanced that it becomes difficult to choose. FZ owner here. Will give you my perspective. When ridden under 5k rpm (and sanely) i get 40-45 in city conditions (bangalore, peak hour traffic). Anything above 5k rpm, the mileage drops to anything between 30-40. The 2012 models has a bit less torque and so you get ~5kmpl more.
And for 600km a month, you're saving just 2ltrs of petrol every month on a 50kmpl bike over a 40kmpl bike.Comment

unfotunately i rode good kms on FZ, But i would suggest you to ride it again, And if you need Speed and power then ride something else. surely not FZ!! There is something call people's satisfaction, and they get satisfied in many areas, so there are so many models selling out!!Comment

Thank-you all for your helpful replies. I am sorry for unknowingly creating a flame here. Personally, I am not against any manufacturer. We had a Bajaj Priya in our house for almost 20 years & it worked wonderfully, we now have a Hero Passion since 8 years & it also has been awesome! Also, my friends & relatives have all given good reviews about Yamaha & Honda.
With the choices in hand currently, I am mostly inclined towards buying the Hunk. The FZ still makes a backdoor entry though :P
I have enquired extensively about the new version of Hunk & currently only one dealer in Mumbai seems to have it, that dealer however is charging almost 8000 Rs extra by bringing in unwanted charges which I wont discuss here. I found this quite wrong & have decided to instead wait for a few more days although it seems that now I will miss my Dushehra gift
Please keep posting more details about the new Hunk.Comment

Go for Unicorn. She will take on all bikes in 150cc category and will also earn you good mileage. Fz-16 is just show off style bike. Good for modding. Only the place Fz-16 wins against Unicorn is at corners.Comment
