  • Apache's sitting position concern

    Hi all,

I am thinking of purchasing tvs apache 180 abs, however my friends say that apache's sitting position is not good.
They say that if ridden for longer duration at a stretch results in back ache and also hands start aching.
I request all apache owners to share their experiences regarding the sitting position in apche i.e one has to bend forward to ride it.
Is it true that brnding forward causes problem in apache ???

    Thanks a lot.

Topic Moved to What Bike Section.

I had a brief stint with the RTR 180 once. And what a ride it was. Its riding position was not ideal for my height which is 6 feet+. But still it was fun riding it. It had a sporty and yet quite an odd riding position, but it worked well.

Yes, you might have wrist and back aches for 2-3 days, but later they disappear as you get used to the machine. And let me tell you, this "bending forward" position makes a bike sporty and you can ride it hard due to this.

Also, you can ask members in the ownership section what they feel: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...180-a-625.html

This is the best to get the answer over pillion seat!!

RTR 180 or 160 don't have exact sports position, but yes it's close to it!! Sports riding positions are subject to get use to.

ABS is best to get in <1L.

      Post the pic soon!!

Yes in starting there will be slight ache in your hands but after some time you will get used to it. That is not a big deal. I am using Apache since 3.5 years and I found no problem with it.
But the fun that you will get in this position is awesome and it is not provided in most of the bikes.

Totally agree with that. The riding position is something you won't find in any other bike. Is not as aggressive as the r15. But is sporty enough for you to have fun.

If you like the bike the position will never be an issue. I rode my rtr for over 200km with 40% of it on single lane badly maintained village roads with all sorts of potholes. And I enjoyed it completely. So discard any thoughts of that!!

Don't matter what it is: Touring; Racing; Commuting. All I know is, I belong on the saddle.

I too completely agree with @Madhav766
I personally am not a fan of the bike's looks (especially the newly designed ones), but the Apaches have one of the best sitting position. Not as Aggressive As R15, but Better than any other same segment bikes available.

To be sure, have a TD for abt 10-15 min to see if you will comfortable.(Also if u are not comfortable, few rides for two to three days will make u habituated)
and for the looks, have a look at sitting stance of Any one riding an Apache from back.. you will understand

Today rode ABS apache and it was way comfortable to me, because i am tend to sports position on my R15!!

ABS was nice and help in lot places, mostly when hard brake for bumpers!!! ABS takes place!!! Nice one to buy below 1L...

Every one should look for ABS enables bikes only, it is a super life saver or reduces chance to visit hospitals!!
