@Bandhav..iam not trying to be inflamatory here but the ZMA FI news is doing rounds since 2006, Iam buying a ZMA in Jan once the 2009 model is avbl and i spoke to the HH regional office in Bangalore. The guy kinda assured me that FI wont be coming in another 6-8 months..He is like "Sir, we donot have any info, no use waiting"

If you are willing to pay 80Rs rent per day on a brand new ZMA-R, then buy 1 and sell it for 15k less after 6 months, if there is something bettor(according to u) in market that time.

Thats wat i thought and did, 5.5 months back and nothings new out yet

        deleted...hmmm interesting

        @MG biker
there were posts but some are deleted and the reason is OT-what does that stand for Other Topic???

Ok Fi news in zma again popping up ...as far i know ,the CRF 230 which is the bike from which the zma takes it engine, the newest model doesnt feature Fi ie PGM-Fi technology,so if HH launches one now, defintely it will be thier own Fi system and not honda....it might be something like P220 ...anyhow nothing can be zeroed in now and i can sure wait till jan end ...no probs

          ^^OT means Off-Topic.

And till the time someone gives me a written proof or valid link about ZMA FI(Sorry Bandhav-I hope you can understand) I will treat it as a speculation only.

              zma again?

              Same confusion here.

I had a 2007 ZMA-R, which i rode for 14k kms and sold it off before going abroad. I will be back in India shortly and am zeroing on bikes which are comfortable for touring and city riding.

The bikes which I was interested were R-15, thunderbird twinspark and zma.

But looking at the reviews, I am dropping off R-15 due to its riding posture since I will be frequently traveling in to muttodi forests(Chickmagalur, Karnataka) where roads are superbad. Also, I am not sure whether the thunderbird is a good choice for bangalore traffic. I didn't go for P220 in '07 due to the issues it had initially. Now it leaves me only with zma. zma offered a great riding experience for me and never gave me trouble while touring. Seems like i have no options other than zma.

              Thanks,

              Krishna

Advice froma Pulsar 180 UG3 owner

                Roshan.

Have you forgotten that there is a bike named thunderbird twin spark from ROyal Enfield ? ... Go for it and you wont regret it.. I havent bought one coz i cant afford it right now ... And remember that all bikes need maintenance .. and TBTS doesnt need any more servicing than a Pulsar.. Pulsars start giving noise from all over the body after riding it for 500-600 kms a day for three days continuously ... with TBTS no such issues ..

                  @ deepmetal

trust me initial bikes in ma mind were bullet TBTS and Zma .....best tourers no dobt but TBTS is a bit more than ma budget ,its about 1.15lac which is about approx 30k more...if it was 85k then i wouldnt have taken zma probably......one moer thing stopping me from taking that is the top end which isnt that impressive ,i mean the vibrations and stuff at 100kmph+....zma can easily do 100-110 kmph......So the question Zma or wait for a honda (new bigger capapcity one with say a PGM Fi tech with 6 speed gearbox) too much to ask for from HONDA ....too much to ask for i know

PGM-FI is not too much to ask for as Honda have already announced that they will put FI in all their motorcycles sold in India especially the future launches.

if anyone wants to go for a 'zma, pls go for it, if they had to launch a FI 'zma they could have launched it when they launched the R version or when they were dropping Mr. Roshan from a copter on a motorcycle.

as per industry sources, nothing coming

this waiting period is taking like forever ....Honda still hasnt given any clues except the CBR1000Rr model launch for sure in india in early 2009...what about the rest......anyhow i have almost eliminated Honda from the list (if anybody has confirmed news plz do share)....so its Zma /FZ16.....reliabilty both r good, looks FZ has an upper hand,Performance Zma is far ahead.....spares FZ has an upper hand but as Zma is reliable thats shouldnt be a problem for 2 years minimum right ......mileage FZ is good but rear seat and long distance comforts-Zma has an upper hand ......
