Why would you recommend a company that's fading away
    1. You are welcome. Try AMBA BAJAJ as the Pulsar 220 / 200 NS are on your list.
    2. ZMR is a very practical bike. Parking might be an issue otherwise. On the motorways, the bike can easily maintain 90KPH. EFI gives you good throttle response. No need to warm up the engine unlike Carb engines. Also your mom or wife will find the pillion seat comfortable. The only other bike that can do this is the Bullet.

ZMR might be discontinued soon. Not immediately but soon before 2014 when Honda deal ends. Since I am going to keep this bike for more than 5 yeas its a gamble. Parts and service might be an issue. But knowing Hero this might not happen still its a gamble.

you seem like a city rider,so don't consider any faired bike, ns 200 will save you some bucks, duke will give you more fun .
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
        #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

I took a test ride with p220 recently. The riding position seemed slightly different from p150. Headlight was good but faced a major problem. The Rear view mirrors were no good.

I could not see even half of the road with these mirrors. I ride with looking at the mirrors constantly. I even had a minor accident because of these mirror. I don't know how bajaj designed these and how other people are coping with these mirror.

I have changed my priority as towards safety first. In a country where riding in road safely is at the mercy of others, I dont want to end up as a news even when I have not done any mistake.

So A bike with good safety record is the one for me. ABS or Not good brakes are must. Even Busa with ABS has skidded, so a superior breaking is must. Good Headlight. And Nice tyres (can be upgraded) is a must. Other safety features also welcomed.

          Please suggest the following

Bike - With above mentioned requirements
Tyres - With good Grip in dry and wet tarmac.
Helmet - Should not do more harm than good
Any other safety gears for city ride.

If you want a reasonably priced bike (vis a vis features) the R15 has very good brakes, good tyres & good handling and slightly below par performance compared to the 200NS.
But is it suitable to your original requirements?
How about the Hunk if you want something similar to the P150?

In the city, you'll have trouble with Autos, Buses (the Volvo ones especially) and Cabbies. You need to learn to avoid them.

You need some time to get used to the mirrors ,when I bought my NS even I felt the mirros were of no use ,but after riding for few days you will come to know what angle to adjust the mirrors to get proper rear view ,its just a matter of getting used to .

R15 has too sporty seating.. With my height and build its difficult to ride. More over I am looking above 150 CC only..

Ya I think so. But with my build (I am on the generous side) It will always cover only less half the road.

There are multiple solutions for the 'P220 unusable mirror' issue costing from Rs.50 to Rs. 300 to fix *permanently*. Search / Ask around on the ownership threads and you will know.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

                    Dilemma Dilemma Dilemma.

After getting lots of advise, on first thought I felt P200NS is the best choice and decide to buy it.
On second thought due to my Size on being ++ side, I felt CBR250 will be a good choice and started researching about it.
On third thought I felt, if I am going to spend close to two lakhs why not a RE. After-all everyone has crush on RE. Started researching about TB500 and fell in love with it.
On fourth thought as my first love (Pulsar) kept calling me back, I thought if I am ready to spent 2 lakhs and live with niggles why not give P375 a choice. I mean nobody can forget their first love right.
On fifth though, my mind said you are without a ride for nearly 8 months, that's like living without a hand so why not book TB500 and wait 6 months for P375 release and cancel TB500 if need.
On sixth thought, my second mind (come on everyone has two minds) argued what if by freak luck you got TB500 in one or two month and P375 turned to be EPIC. You will lose heart and money.

Dilemma Dilemma Dilemma. I cant come to a conclusion guys help me out here..

On seventh thought, you are thinking too much!

Make yourself a priority list. What do you want the bike for? For pleasure, or as a workhorse? Pure pleasure, go for an enfield, or a cbr250r or some such. As a workhorse, get yourself a 150 that can do occasional touring. I have done all my touring on a Unicorn. For something in between pleasure and business, get something like a 180 or 200NS that can do both.

But get something quick. You have grown 8 months older in your life and you have missed a lot of riding opportunities already.... and you r still not done with thinking. Before you get any more older, get on the saddle quick!

Prioritise as people have advised. If you need comfort and safety is zmr or bullet. Having owned the former I can tel its easy to handle in traffic once you get used to it-no frequent gear changes as power is distributed uniformly in all the rev ranges. No need to downshift if you wanna overtake for example. Cbr is good but in city its a nightmare. That's what one of the cbr members told me here. Cause of the gear ratios I guess. And bro zmr engine and stress? Adding fi increased its mileage that am getting 45kmpl approx in city and 48-50kmpl on highways. Check out the ownership thread. You'll know for yourself. Pillion and rider comfort is really good too. I know only about zmr so I've told you about it.
But do not wait for new bikes. Pulsars get UGs when they are released so, be it any company, wait for few months on it being released and study the reviews. In all this waiting you'll never benefit. Buy a bike asap. Thats what I would suggest.

Totally agree with you. But I am nearing 30 and this will be my last bike purchase for at least 10 years. This is the first reason for increasing my budget from 1L to 2L. Second reason I was saving for the 1L increase. Before I get married I have to own a good bike. Sometimes it OK to wait for good reasons. Next decade is going to be the most important decade for biking in India but sadly my age and financial situation wont allow me to enjoy all those pleasures.

I dont want to own ZMR because its too old and due for replacement any time this year and sadly Hero-Erik bike is still a year away. No offense meant. If I can I would wait but I cant. I will wait till this festive season for new bike and choose one. If Hero can pull up the socks and bring the bike before that its well and good.
