Discover 125 ST seems to be the best bet here wrt comfort.
Pulsar 135 would be a lil sporty, but still comfortable and more Top end(Hence good for highways).

Test ride and choose any of them. I would vote for Igniter over Stunner from your list( its a great bike, but aint dong good numbers). With Hero's service back up, you wont go wrong either..

i would suggest you go for the discover as it suits your requirements very well and the new discover st is much better than most other bikes in its category.

If you are really planning for long tours, it's always advisable to put a few k's extra and get a 150cc+ machine. Trust me, you won't regret later.

If you are looking for a 125-135cc only, you can consider the Yamaha SS125. I have toured extensively with my Yamaha Gladiator (now renamed to SS125) and it was extremely comfortable and could easily maintain 85kmph non-stop for hours. Top speed was around 105 kph. It's a big machine with complete instrumentation (feels like a 150!), stable on highways, and a very refined machine as well. FE is slightly lower compared to discover, though.

Among the ones you have shortlisted, Discover125 ST seems to be the best option.

You can take a look at the yamaha SZ-R which is a 150 cc bike which will provide you more power than 125 cc bike and
the torque to keep up with the pace during the lond touring..... I dont know whether it will be in your budget or not,
But surely u need to take a look at it...

SZ-R is an excellent bike for touring and city, especially due to the rich torque. Basically a de-tuned FZ engine and a less aggressive styling. My bro owns a 2011 SZ-R and it's a pleasure to ride. The only downside is top speed. In spite of being a 150, it has a 80kph cruising speed and a top speed of 100 with great difficulty. Mostly maxes out at 100, unless performance mods are carried out.

For a lesser price, SS125 offers a similar cruising speed and top speed - though the torque is noticeably lesser.

i did think about it,but for over 2000 km distance FE is a factor,and power rise is not again very substantial so i am thinking about the disco

Any bike will return a pretty average mileage especially on tours with 2000km+ on the odo. You will definitely not be maintaining an economy speed. So what you have to look at is engine capacity. Larger capacity=better torque=better comfort=better riding=less cost. In the long run, I'd say an engine with a higher capacity will serve you better.

But then again, when you look at veterans like ridermax doing BR hills on the platina(a 125cc bike), everything is put to rest. So while I'd STRONGLY suggest you go for a 150cc vehicle for your purposes, if you are particular on a 125cc class, I'd suggest the ss125. Its beautiful vehicle and its capable too. The discover 125st is superb, but for those tires!

Yes, you can definitely go for SS. I've been using it for 4 and a half months and have gone on short tours as well. It's very comfortable and also the SMOOTHEST 125 cc.

Well, as you have shortlisted 4 bikes, First lets start with the Discover 125cc ST.
Bajaj has taken technology one step forward with the two new discovers i;e 100 T & 125 ST.
The discover 125 ST is a very practical yet one among the best 125's of india today.
I say it is a leader among the commuter segment, dont know how its sales are going to perform though. Comfort is the biggest essence of the Discover 125 ST. Other big advantage of Discover 125 ST, 5 speed gearbox, a 4 Valve engine, Better power + Better Mileage & churns out 12.8 BHP of power which even enough for a beginner on highway because i heard that its Company claimed top speed is around 110 Kmph, the tyres are not the best in segment, skinny ones. Coming to its Quality, never mind Bajaj's bikes are not that greatly built, infact they are built for Value for money purpose, they always serve you the best in the price which you have paid. They are not built to Last long,But comparatively speaking to other companies like Yamaha or Honda, Bajaj's bikes are not the Best in quality, but good enough to serve, maintain them well, and they are going to last.
The next machine here is Pulsar 135 LS, Technically again its powered by same features. Great bike to ride in city, 13+ Bhp is enough here too to strike highways for a newbie. Coming to its looks, the looks are not that great i;e the bike is skinny. The engine is refined, carries some stylish features such as split seat, grabs & a clip on handle (personally i dont like these stuff tried on a commuter motorcycle though) they look good and mark a massive appeal. In clear words, the Pulsar 135 is a little Pulsar 150 & machine for a person to choose between Pulsar 150 & a Discover 125 ST, coming to comfort, this bike is not that comfortable on Highways because of a different seating posture rather than a commuter motorcycle.
Reliability of Pulsar 135 is same as i mentioned, do not expect them to be the only best. Good enough in terms of reliability.
The third & fourth bikes, as mentioned are Stunner & Ignitor. As these are two same bikes sold with a Different badge, nothing much here to compare them.
As seen, the Stunner/ Ignitor are well built motorcycles, The engine is very responsive, refined, both of these engines are same & deliver 11 Bhp of power - 5 speed gearbox. Performance is fair.
Their looks are identical, features are almost same. But these motorcycles miss out an Engine kill switch which might be a problem for some who are used to an engine kill switch. These two bikes take the rider to a sporty riding feel as these are sporty looking & make the rider lean a bit. So comfort is not so good here. But one thing you will love in these two motorcycles is the engine refinement, the way the power is delivered smoothly. Coming to city riding, these bikes are good enough, but as you have mentioned, comfort is most important here, the Discover ST is the best option here. The resale figures of Bajaj's motorcycles are not great, the same case with Ignitor & stunner too, infact slightly better resale than Bajaj.
Coming to the end of comparo, here is a bike which also is of a lower maintenance than the other three, and most powerful & fuel efficient of all, The Discover 125ST - Go for Discover 125 ST. The Best & practical motorcycle of all three. Most Fuel Efficient, Most Powerful, Most Comfortable, Comparatively Low on Maintenance.

The SS125 will offer atleast 50-55 kmpl on highway rides at 80km/h. The Disco is new technology and a very good bike, but it still feels smaller and less comfortable compared to the SS125. You can test-ride both and compare. Stay away from the Honda and it's clone - they are no good above 70km/h.

are ss-125 and for that matter sz-r more comfortable than to dicover?
