I think a lot depends on the way you ride. At city I normally do not take it to more than 80kmph. ZMA does 80kmph exactly at 5k rpm at 5th gear. Even when I am riding at 60kmph I use 5th gear. I have tested the milage several times in several methods. Every time it comes around 41kmpl in city.

                Simple guideline for the RTR:

                Shift below 5k: 45-50 kmpl
Above that (which on a quick revving RTR is very frequent) : Mucho lesso! I got 25 during one lavasa stint..hehe..

I always shift below 4k. Can this be one of the reasons why I get so much milage?

Yes. In any case, there's nothing to be gained by ripping in city. On a highway you may feel the need to shift a bit later for faster pickup.

Yes, I only swift at a bit higher rpm when i need to overtake fast moving vehicles. But, Don't think I have ever shifted above 5500 rpm.

OT and P.S- I city I normally do not rip but I have ripped 2/3 times when I found hot chicks were staring at the man and his machine and discussing something.

I think that post by Technocrat settles Karizma's mileage. I am no gentle rider Besides, I dont believe in looking at the tacho and shifting. I followed that tip in car (shifting at 2000-2200rpm) and had a terrbile experience.

Anyways, I could eliminate atleast one option out of the three Now all that remains is taking a test drive of both & arranging cash.
