  • 150cc Bike for Tall person like me 6'1"

Hi I am 6 feet and 1 inches tall 19 year old guy with average built(80kgs). I want to buy a bike but unable to decide what should i go for.
    My budget is under 75000rs.

My options are Xtreme/Hunk,Apache,Unicorn,Szr,or any you suggest.

No Suzuki as no showroom nearby and No Pulsar as I don’t wanna be in group of mobs, I Really mean mob as every 5-6 out of 10 I see is pulsars.

I will ride Approx 25-30km of travel daily to College(14km far from my house consisting of 8km state highway), therefore reasonably good handling bike...
Please suggest me one of these or any other bike which satisfy as many as possible underlying criteria

    • Should suit my tall structure (must)
    • Should be stylish (good enough)
    • Comfort in riding
    • Less maintenance
    • Good mileage (approx 50-55 sane riding at 60-70kmph with pillion)
    • Smooth and Sturdy performing bike(least vibes).
    • Moreover i will keep this bike for 4-5 years atleast.

I think i have given good enough information. Please help me make a decision (though i know it will be difficult for you too due to long wishlist).

If you can extend your budget, get Karizma. Its fun on highways, and mileage varies accd. to riding style and place. Some guys get 25, others get 45.

But for all your needs including budget, height, handling, mileage, etc, I would suggest that you get Honda Unicorn Dazzler. All the good points of Unicorn, plus a fresh redesign and engine tune up.

Thanks Samarth for a quick approval.

BTW My cousin has Karizma i kept it for a few days its awesome bike, great pickup, comfort and handling but mileage is quite less and cant increase my budget
Dazzler was all rounded to it but it gives startup problem in winter and rainy season as battery dies too early and no kick to start it if their is some solution you can give me for it then I can pick it up.

stunner is quite good in terms of mileage(55-60kmpl in city) and looks at 55k
and fi model is great in terms of mileage(60-65kmpl in city),bank angle sensors, malfunction indicator i.e lot of goodies but i think its overpriced.
glamour fi is same as stunner fi but less looks and one gear

i can consider these if they can cruise easily w/o any vibs at 60-80kmph and mileage not falling too which i think they cant, i may be wrong.
but stunner being same with no kick gives startup problem as dazzler.

These days most of the bikes come without kicker, so kicker shouldn't be a problem at all. No kicker shouldn't stop u from choosing a bike.

Coming to Unicorn Dazzler, I personally feel its very small for your height. If you are OK with the height then you don't have to bother for battery/cold start. It has the same mill of Unicorn (slightly bettered with goodies), and in cold just use choke n leave it idle for 1 minute or 2.

I would not suggest Apache for your height. You can choose from Unicorn or Xtreme.

First please test ride all these bikes and then decide !!

Bro i was also on the same situation when i bought my hunk in 2011, I am also 6.2 and all given point by you was my also at that time, I found hunk the best as my height, mileage, maintenance, durability, stylish and yes a big bike feel was very important for me also on at under 75k.
After completed 14k and 1.5 year almost, I would say all my requirements are fulfilled except in the case of comfort, comfort is not bad at all but i would give 7 out of 10, and facing some problem with front disc brake which is bearable, rest all things are superb and I am happy with my choice.
I also test drove Unicorn and Dazzler and Apache RTR at the time of buy, but found very small under my legs.
I would say a test ride will take you to your final decision.

              very cofusing ??

              average of 50-55kmpl with 150cc engine....hmmmm......

I am with Samarth the best bike in 150 range is Dazzler but it's 10k more than your budget! it comes approx 86k+/- on road in mumbai.

Fact you can't denie is most of the fuel effecient bikes are from Bajaj with in very attractive prices. You are awesomely tall and a 100 cc is this a question!

50-55KMPL is very rare in city by any 150cc bike.

You can go with Yamaha SZr which has good build/technology and efficiency too. it will45-50kmpl in city.

Dazzler is good. but priced is more. Don't worry on kick start. if ou use it daily then it's not an issue. Battery needs few check up in regular intervals

              Else Stunner is also good!

please don't assume that you will 50kmpl+ in city by any 150cc bike! it will vary.

As i already mentioned i am expecting that average on highways at speed of 60-70kmph

According to all of your replies and ownerships experience pages i am ruling out apache and szr.

                Finally
                Dazzler[First preference](on road 73643rs and74744rs[dual color] ),
Hunk(73k fr disc) and Xtreme(74k) sharing same engine will be second preference

I will test ride Dazzler and Xtreme after my semester exams i.e. 25 june
[No need of TD of Hunk as my brother have it and i know its comfortable but mileage is only 40 sane city riding]
His view is also that check out dazzler and Xtreme about comfort and mileage,if is more than Hunk buy that or else last option is Hunk.

Till then u can give me your suggestions about these three bike i will share my experience about TD and then get that bike.

Dazzler owner here. I feel that Dazzler may not suit you for your tall height.

Better to go for a Suzuki GS150, nice big bike for your height, 6 gears, good mileage and a very stable higway package since your are going to be having a substantial amount of state highway on your commute. It is a bit too bulky for city riding but my opinion is that you always get used to the bulk after all even CBR250 is a nice big bike but once you get used to it, it can be a breeze even in the city!
Besides with your height, the GS150 will not feel so bulky at all. Consider GS150, it is a good bike!

Second option go for the updated Hunk.

Stay away from FZ since tall people look total comedy on FZ according to my personal opinion. I could have suggested Yamaha 150 commuter bikes but I feel they are very much city bikes and lack the power to ride on highways

Help me to choose a bike

I was using Fiero F2 till this day but have sold it for upgrade and while writing this I'm crying, because I loved my baby very much.

Please help me to choose a good bike as I give out my choice of reasons for each bike.

TVS Apache RTR 160 OTR ~73k

I like TVS brand very much because they run very well without giving many problems and also their parts are cheap. As all my bikes from Max R to Fiero were from this company, I had not much problems with them. But a big no to Apache because, these TVS guys shutdown a product very soon. Apache 150 came and disappeared very soon and also I think they will shut down 160 because they are concentrating on 180 more nowadays. So can't guarantee these people, with 5 years their vehicles get disappeared. So this is the only reason no for Apache.

                          Honda Unicorn 150 OTR ~76k

Good bike but waiting period simply disgusting and much hyped vehicle, certainly brand name Honda has value but also too much of ask for a simple vehicle. I rode this vehicle several times and the more it gets old it gets worst. Big not to Unicorn

Hero Honda CBZ Extreme or Hunk whatever OTR ~77k

Another Honda product with different name, sells for its name but now it's just Hero and there is not much to take from it.

                          Yamaha FZ -16 OTR ~77k

I'm fan of Brand Yamaha from my childhood, not only bikes whatever they make right from musical keyboard to Racing bikes, they are the King.

I was big fan of RX100 and I wanted to own it but it didn't happen because when I started earning, petrol prices started soaring and the vehicle disappeared. When FZ was launched, I fell in love with her at first sight and it was my dream to buy this girl and I hope God will bless me with this one very soon

So I'm asking you guys, should I go for Yamaha FZ-16, and if I ride with steady speed of 45-55 km/hr, will I get the mileage of atleast 42 km/l. Please help guys, Am I doing right thing by going for Yamaha

                          Thanks

Waiting for a reply from suzuki about their planning about svc in nanded,if they will be bringing in 1yr then i will go for gs150r, But sad thing is that its nearly 15-20 days i had no reply from suzuki.

The question will be still their UNICORN, HUNK/XTREME?
Apart from this poll is more inclined towards HUNK/Xtreme.
