  • 1st bike - Pulsar 200 NS - Yes/No ???

Hello, My name is Deep. 1st post here in XBHP.

Owning a bike is almost every guys dream and me at 22, I'm finally capable of owning one. I've been driving an Activa for over 4 years now. And I've driven many bikes in the past Ranging from Bullet, java, Adreno, Rx series to the very recent Fz, karizma, pulsars etc. (owned by my friends). I've Never owned one myself but im quite familiar with them.

Since this is the 1st bike I'm gonna own. I want to be sure that I buy something really good that lasts long with low maintenance and good performance.
I just don't like 100 cc bikes And that's one reason why I've been driving a Honda scooter - Activa. (Second hand).

I just love pulsar 200NS. Ive recently started reading the forums and i am glad people out here help new bike enthusiasts like me choose the perfect ride.

    So here goes my requirements,

    1. A very good looking bike. Something not very common around.

    2. I'm 5.6 and just over 65kgs. A comfortable bike that handles well and suits me.

    3. Decent mileage, I'm fine with anything about 35. Performance really matters.

    4. A bike that lasts long. This is my 1st time to buy one so I want a reliable bike with low maintenance.

    I drive about 30 to 50 kms a day. Speeds between 60 to 80.

Im an Average rider not a speed freak but would like to get some juice when I want to just zip in

I've short listed The pulsar 200 Ns after thoroughly reading the reviews and driving a few kms. I'm just confused because there is a lot of fuss bout the seat height being tall, the tyres being bad and mileage being bad between 25 to 30.

    Is it true??

I don't like the pulsar series but the 200ns really changed that opinion on bajaj.

Please suggest if i should buy the 200ns considering my height and usage. I would also love to know some user reviews for the 200ns. Mileage and things I should know about the bike.

And some suggestions about how to maintain a bike for good performance and good mileage for a longer period.

Thank you so much guys. Really appreciate any kind of suggestions , Advice, info. )

    - Deep

Buy what you like. You have nearly decided.. I would recommend a test ride. No one can tell you whether the bike will fit your size except you.

I did a test drive already bro, I dint feel any kind of problem. The legs fit just right. I wanted to know if someone out here who's 5'6 using this bike ? And his reviews about it.

I love the NS. All I'm really worried about is the rumor that is created on the net that its all a hype and the bike is not actually very good. I dint feel so. But I just don't wanna regret buying this bike. I want to use it for long.
Hence I'm hoping its gives a mileage of about 35minimum and no engine or gearbox issues.

Color choice ? Black or yellow ?

            Thanx ! ?

Hey thanks for your response. I am planning to buy yellow as well
I think 2 inches won't make much of a difference.

I wanted to know about the mileage as well bro.
How much are you getting ?

I am getting between 35 to 40 . But that was before my first servicing that happened Last week . I think mileage will increase a bit now . Also height is a bit of problem . Specially when the bike is standing in slope . In that case its very hard to push the bike back while being seated on it . Now i pull it back before sitting on it .

So Milage is not an issue. It's only the height now that might be an issue.

How about FZs ? I really love the NS. But is FZs worth 80,000 ? Because 200NS is definitely worth 1,00,000.

Fzs has been around for a while. That's one reason why I don't wanna buy it.
NS is in this case is fresh. And almost virgin in the place I live in.

I bought the NS in April this year and have been getting a constant mileage of 35-40 kmpl in city riding conditions.

If you can raise your budget, you can even consider buying a KTM Duke 200. Its really worth it.

My 1st priority was the KTM duke 200 bro. But then it's a good 50k expensive and gives in the same Milage as the P200NS. Also the pillion seat is a little better and useful in the P200NS.

I mean 50k advancement just for the Brand and a little better engine dint make much sense. I love the KTM duke 200. But the P200NS is a fair deal for 98,000..

Well that's just my opinion. On a serious note. I can't go above 1,00,000 at this moment in time.

If money is the only constraint, then it's understandable. But if your decision is based on this statement "gives in the same Milage as the P200NS" then it's ridiculous.
