Waited a day to get approved here , Anyways guys a big hello to every member of the xbhp community

My problem is that i dont know how to ride geared bike , i have tried it for 3 to 4 times but i failed

I just started working in company and felt the need of a bike , i dont want to go for activa or aviator( although i know how to drive them)

I have zeroed over Pulsar 200 NS but i felt i will spoil the bike because i have to learn a lot about cluth - gear system and many more things , i wont be able to understand or feel what exactly my bike is.

There is also a possibility of getting into some accidents.

I just felt its better to go for 2nd hand bike and then understand what exactly biking is all about.

After complete understanding il go for a new bike, may be by that time some models will be released.

Need your suggestions guys , Do u think m correct if yes suggest me some bikes to start with( I am thinking of FZ )

My location : Hyderabad
Height : 5'9

anyone who wants to sell his bike can message me

Thanx

Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Ok.. now that you mentioned you don't know how to ride a bike, why don't you learn it first with the help of your friends? of course its not too difficult to learn.. I learnt with the Hero Honda splendor which was not too powerful.. if you are a new bee.. better get a second hand less powerful bike.. get used to riding the geared bike and then set yourself off with bigger machines.. as of now.. I would suggest you try the Honda Stunner or the Hero Ignitor (both 125cc engine).. they look nice and at the same time not too powerful which can help you in learning how to ride..

just for your safety.. if you want a smaller bike, then the honda CB Twister is nice as well..

as said by the above rider, better go for a light weight and smaller bike.. it would be much easier to learn on them..
get a second hand bike or simply ask a friend of yours to let you ride and ask him to help..
Fz is kinda not suited if you are riding for the first time, get your hands steady on a much more controlled bike and then go for slightly heavier ones..
don't worry mate, if you know how to ride a activa, then riding a bike would be much of a problem.. you know the balancing, now its just to know the gearing and the acceleration..
you'll get that stuff very easily with practical experience..

Ride safe and have fun.
Regards

In my opinion, trying to learn riding geared bike on something like a Splendor would be good idea.If your relatives/friends do not have/or not willing to give you bike, you can very well buy a used Splendor , learn riding and exchange it for a new bike in the showroom.
Splendors have decent resale value, so you should not be loosing your money much when you are going for exchange or resale.

Unfortunately I have to disagree with everybody above.

Buy whichever bike you feel like, big or small. You will learn on that. Crash once or twice. See your beautiful new bike crashed, pay for the repairs and learn a lesson for life.

You will never crash again!!!

Motorcycling should not be given so much thought. It is instinctive and intuitive. So remember Nike and - Just Do It.

If you are responsible enough to think about buying a second hand bike to avoid crashes, then you are probably responsible enough to handle anything south of 250... Ofcourse the best judge of that is YOU.

Point to agree on.. I learnt on a new splendor back in the year 2001.. we didn't have many choices those days.. we had a CBZ and the Fiero but didn't opt for them.. crashing is learning.. like they say.. failure is the stepping stone towards success..

I had a crash in 1999 with an M80 when i didn't know to ride geared bikes.. after that I decided never to buy a geared bike but that was not the end.. thats what made me a good biker to what I am now.. So Cheers to The Monk

But all people out here wouldn't be having a strong heart to see their new bike getting crashed and get to SVC to rectify it

A big no for FZ. It is powerful for a new rider like you. If you throttle it will fly..

You can learn in any bike. But if you are afraid of geared bikes, then try with splendor. It is a simple light weight bike, easy to learn and maneuver in traffic and number of bikes are available in the second hand market.
Go for a new bike only if you have a big heart

I disagree. I've learned to ride on a fz and never fell, crashed or suffered any problem. Its easy to ride and is very forgiving to rider's mistakes

I started learning n riding on FZ. Even Now I consider myslef a learner, after 700KM on it
Let me tell you. FZ Is like a dream for me. Great mix of speed n power. Mileage too I Get 42-43KMpl.
I tend to over use Front brake so Braking is one thing u need to keep ur mind on.
It is not a powerful bike for newbie as acceleration is Sedative. Not Aggresive!
So go for it

I agree with you Sri Teja Prabhala its a powerfully bike and can be controlled well I LOVE FZ because of its braking system
the only complain is the rear MRF tyre is not good at all with in 3-4 months it will cause lot of issues and i recoomand to change once after you fidn a issue with rear tyre
other than that FZ is super bike
