Had I been in your place, I would have opted for the 200ns.Originally posted by deep007 View Posthi to all xbhp members ................i am little bit confused between bikes.1.pulsar 200ns 2.bajaj pulsar 220.....both bikes are good in their own department but i want to know which of this bike last long if we compared it engine..........because i ride very fast and red lineing the bike in every gear except top gear......which has top speed..............waiting u r advice...thanks
It has superior technology(read liquid cooling, ktm duke based engine. The head is diff though), handles way better, better brakes, the mill is comparatively smoother, more power. The eurogrips on the 200 are not very good.
The top speed should be identical but its all about how one reaches the top speed, where the 200ns wins by a fair margin.
The 220 is a better tourer though because it offers better wind protection, one cannot say the engine is not reliable, its as reliable as any other indian bike, has better headlights, mrf's better than eurogrips.
My take is the 200ns. Imho the most vfm performance bike after the duke 390. Both would last equally long provided you take good care of them.
Ownership cost should be less on the pulsar 220 because the spares are priced cheaper and the engine is mechanically less complex. (Read no liquid cooling, no radiator fan, simpler head etc.)

Its because 'Whatever it is, it's better in the wind!'

Re: pulsar 200ns or another bike
If you want crazy revving bike, should go for Duke 200. It behaves exactly the same way as you want it and ergonomics also add to insane riding characters. Plus you get better looking bike than Pulsar 200.
Otherwise, 200NS should be your choice.

Re: pulsar 200ns or another bike
but the duke is almost rs 50000 more costly as compared to pulsar 200ns thus it makes more sense to adopt pulsar 200ns ..........little less power and same top speed.....
WHAT IS THE NORMAL CRUSING SPEED ON PULSAR 200NS AND PULSAR 220 ON HIGHWAY..Last edited by deep007; 07-31-2013, 09:30 PM.

P.S.- No, I am not an employee of Motorbeam.
If you could stretch a bit then I would have recommended the hooligan Duke 200. Also, if you could stretch a tad more, then the Duke 390 or CBR250R would be perfect for you.
Anyways, my money is on Pulsar 200NS.
I mean, if there is 4th generation Intel Core i7 2.0Ghz processor, will you buy a 2nd Generation Intel Core i7 2.2Ghz for almost the same price?

Re: pulsar 200ns or another bike
You can have either.I opted for ns because of its superior technology and (I switched to a k&n filter) the low end torque was just what I needed , sumthng I cannot get on 220.

Re: pulsar 200ns or another bike
Even I am having a problem deciding between the two...I know on one hand 220 is outdated, low in performance,techs..but on the other hand, 200ns looks like 135 from rear end view and from the front it looks like Yamaha FZ
...I dont know about others, but looks wise, I'm kind of disappointed..Dont know maybe its because I am not a huge fan of Naked bikes..

Re: pulsar 200ns or another bike
Looks is always a personal choice. But I realised when I ride my bike I cannot see its rear or front end. Thats for others to look at and I dnt actualy care much, just like I dnt care much about my phone's caller tune. I own an NS and I feel its beautiful to look at, at least from the angle just prior to mounting it. But also honestly, I have seen other NS while riding and they look crap from behind. Sadly true.
But its also true that every morning when I take it for a spin, its brings a wide grin on my face. Even after a year the love affair continues and Only grows.
Here I read a lot of negetives about NS. Many problems cropping up and many issues specially vibrations. Honestly I have never faced any of them. 1year and 0 problems. Small niggles can be simply ignored afterall you cant expect it to be as smooth as a CBR or exciting as a duke when you are paying almost half the price. And the comparison itself is a compliment to the NS as it does come pretty close to them in a few departments.
I have changed my rear tyre to mrf revz and my engine oil to 300v after 2nd servicing. Thats the only changes other than a few stickers here and there. This bike loves to rev hard. Learn to ride it and it wont disappoint you. I have taken it to 147km/hr and kept it there for a few mins sticking myself to the tank for stability.
and the amazing mileage is just the icing on an already very tasty cake.

Re: pulsar 200ns or another bike
Don't know why I feel person talking about only Top speed is Kiddish. Don't mind.
But there is lot apart from only Speed. i.e handling/braking/stability on high speed etc.
So I feel if you are thinking of some good 120kmph+ digits with awesome handling and stability then it should be R15 only !!
That's it.

Re: pulsar 200ns or another bike
Ha ha ha !!! Dude I dont know how you have not heard about this. R15 is the king of handling and its known for that. Even some bigger bikes can match R15's super light nature and nimble handling.Originally posted by Anuj_GuptaR15..? Yes it can be more stable at high speeds than ns due to fairing...but good handling...? Seriously. .if r15 handles that good then looks like the perimeter frame and wide handle size is a manufacturing defect from bajaj...also r15 and ns are totally different bikes, ride em both and rev em hard, you will feel the difference between the 150cc and 200cc...also r15 is not a practical bike, its not suitable for for riding more than 30kms a strech, leaving aside touring capabilities. . get back pain free....
As I Grew Up..I slowly Loose My Freedom...
200ns is good in handling but cant match the corner king and in terms of power ns is clearly a winner.
And have you ever driven a R15?? Its not practical.. Yes,that means you cant buy vegetables with your wife on it. But its not suitable for more than 30km stretch?? This is stupid. Do you think Yamaha is that stupid to manufacture a bike like that?? Mind it!! People have done leh in it and am commuting 50km daily and am not at hospital nor I have any back pain.
You can support for ns or tell its positives. But please dont mislead people like this by giving wrong info.Last edited by siddharthsure; 10-08-2013, 07:37 PM.Its better to sweat than bleed!! "AGATT "

People have done leh and further up on 200 ns also. And I agree r15 aint practical, all you can do is ask your super slim girlfriend to sit on it(and if shes not super slim and you still ask, you ll be single againOriginally posted by siddharthsure View PostHa ha ha !!! , bcoz my a** really took a beating on the r15 as a pillion. So practicality wise ns is the clear winner.
