I doubt how good upgrade is this machine over your current one as they both showcase 250cc engines, of course later one would be better. This makes CBR not so creditable upgrade for your ZMR, sorry, I think I am myself confused over my own opinion

Ninja300 - is costly. if you can afford one, go for it. more power than CBR, and costly to maintain too.

Duke 390 - if you can live with naked bike and upright riding position. it is for you. power and performance at an affordable price.

    RE500: opinions can vary.
I have kept CBR250 out of the list as I don't think it is a creditable upgrade. Why??? Because my ZMA is already having a big bore kit, CDI, Head work, Semi Flat Carb, Simota filter and FFE from Race Concepts. In my last trip to Goa, I could manage to cross 9.1k RPM in 5th gear which translates to 150+kmph. Planning to get a racing camshaft soon. So CBR250 will not be a proper upgrade. I am not going to sell my ZMA ever...not in that bad financial condition guys

When duke 390 was launched I was dead sure of purchasing it as it featured all the goodies (ABS, tourqey engine, insane acceleration etc...) after my 2009 P200 DTSi but after seeing it in reality and taking opinion from better half (wifey) I am saving more money and going for ninja 650. As per my research it is one of the best sports tourer machine available in India plus its a beauty (but also disappointed on the non-availability of ABS on Ninja 650).

Also the price in Delhi (on-road) for Ninja 650 is 5,53,000/- as per KTM/Kawasaki Showroom in CP. So, finally dead sure of buying it by mid next year.

Hang on for a bit... I think a lot of us folk out here biding our time to save up for a fat upgrade... I'll probably have my own middleweight by next year or early 2015.
I agree. After getting all this response I think I should either wait to get 6lakh cash in hand or pay the 2 lakh as down payment and go for finance for rest of the amount and get a N650R.
Thank you all for the inputs...

The CBR like @princesirohi said is a very capable, reliable and loveable all rounder... I own one and would never sell it even after upgrade. But since you own a ZMA which can probably be juiced up by RACE concepts for another year of fun.
    Already juiced up buddy

Use your 2lakhs as down payment and go for the Ninja650 right away. Remember, you can always earn more money...but you can never buy lost time! You are close to 30y (I m 31) and things/priorities change once you cross the magical 30years mark. So, don't wait for bank balance to cross Rs5.5lakh...just go for the Ninja right now.

Also with the Bonville coming up in another couple of months... Don't think the cafe racer stands a chance ... He's strongly considering a middleweight...

And he's willing to wait... ... That reminds me, you can also consider the Triumph Street Triple. If my prayers are answered, Triumph will be in India by end of this year.

Oh is it? My bad, thought they're coming out with Daytona, street t and the bonnie together.

                  I stand corrected.

IIRC, Street Triple is expected to be priced lesser than Daytona (subjective between the R series though), the one I am eyeing

I maybe wrong but as far as I know the Street Triple will be one of the cheapest of what Triumph will offer in their <600cc segment in India. Daytona (std version) too will be priced closer to their lower range offerings. But the Daytona R version will be prices high around 8-9L region. Speed Triples will be around 10L (quite competitive in my opinion - litre class bikes cost anywhere between 10-15L brand new).

Bhai... you want to tag along, sell our soul and buy the Daytona R by the fag end of their 'introductory price' period? (said with one arm shaking the Devil's hand ) ... drooooollll.

p.s - apologies for disturbing thread. I do believe the N650 to be the best bet mate.
