Re: Should I buy a bike?
You're right but if you wanna buy on temporary 2--5 months basis ,then discuss the same with dealer ,tell him you need bike for 2-5 months ,maybe you can strike deal on rent basis ,don't go for transfer of papers(if you trust\dealer is genuine) as it takes alone 2-4 thousand rupeees ,for example ,if a used bike is for 15k ,tell him I need this bike for 6 months and will pay 3k for it ,something like that will be max efficient moneywise

Re: Should I buy a bike?
Thank you very much Anuj. I didn't know that RC transfer can be an expensive procedure. I know a guy who works at a Bajaj showroom but I don't know if he is trustworthy. Are you sure that the dealer would rent a bike for just 3K? Like you said it's difficult to get a decent one. Most of the used bikes out there don't have insurance and battery. That's another headache as both these things are unavoidable (I don't want to kick start a decade old bikeOriginally posted by Anuj_Gupta View PostYou're right but if you wanna buy on temporary 2--5 months basis ,then discuss the same with dealer ,tell him you need bike for 2-5 months ,maybe you can strike deal on rent basis ,don't go for transfer of papers(if you trust\dealer is genuine) as it takes alone 2-4 thousand rupeees ,for example ,if a used bike is for 15k ,tell him I need this bike for 6 months and will pay 3k for it ,something like that will be max efficient moneywise

). My idea was to buy a used bike, ride it for 2 months, then exchange it when I buy a new bike.

Re: Should I buy a bike?
My two cents, if you are not so passionate about biking, you can continue driving your car. I read that fuel expenses of you car made you think of a bike. You are going to invest 1L on your bike. Just doing some math, assuming your car returns 10kmpl FE, and if you ride 500 km per month, you would be able to run the show for 3 more years with that 1L. Well, I simply tried you answer the title of your post
.
If you like to start on biking, then best to wait for some more time... and yes learning with a used bike is very sensible, but be sure you buy something in a good condition, because sometimes it might cause some issue and bring hatred to biking itself
.
Its crime to ride a car alone, so I ride bike :).

He he thanks buddy. Sorry for the late reply. Didn't see it. What you said makes perfect sense if I was spending my own money to buy it.Originally posted by joeantony View PostMy two cents, if you are not so passionate about biking, you can continue driving your car. I'm still a student and my parents will pay for the bike. At the moment I pay the fuel bills from my pocket money. With other expenses also on the rise, I'm finding it a bit difficult. My parents probably don't know that I travel this much every day
. With reduced fuel expenses, I'll have more money for other things. I expect the figure to come down to 25% of the current one with a bike. But one thing you said is very true. I love cars a lot more than bikes. But this might change once I become more familiar with riding.

Re: Should I buy a bike?
I'm in same dilemma, I'm planning to buy the 200NS too but I'm a bit disappointed as the mustard yellow color was discontinued. If you are confused about buying, just wait some time, maybe there will be a naked version of Pulsar 375/390SS. In my case too, parents will pay for the bike (I hope), but I am planning to pay a part from my own too. Maybe you should ride your friend/relatives' bikes occasionally and see if you really like riding or not. Since you already have a cage I don't think you are in a hurry.
BTW Damn good signature, I can't agree more.I am back!

Re: Should I buy a bike?
I'm not that interested in a budget naked bike because of its looks. Waiting to see how good the Pulsar 200SS is. I love to ride though I'm not the 'live to ride' kinda guy. Btw, cars are not cages. Driving a GOOD CAR is better than circus on 2 wheels, any day (personal opinion).Originally posted by Cleaner View PostI'm in same dilemma, I'm planning to buy the 200NS too but I'm a bit disappointed as the mustard yellow color was discontinued.
