Hey all you great bikers suggest a bike to a n00b

    My height is 5.5

    My weight is 60kg

    My budget is 65k

Currently i am thinking about the following bikes
    1. FZ16
    2. Apache rtr 160
    3. Hero honda cbz xtreme
    4. Hunk
    5. karizma

Please tell the mileage of FZ16 and APACHE

and FZ does not have a kick stand ? will it be a problem in future ?

    thanks in advance

      Hi Krates,
The FZ16 is within your budget. It doesnt have a kick start (like the Pulsar 220 / R15) and shouldnt be a problem until unless the battery is down. It also has a low seat height which is good for you
The Apache RTR again fits ur budget. But it is more inclined towards a sporty rider
The Hunk and the Extreme are good bikes. The Hunk has a slightly lower seat height, again good for you. Plus HH's bikes are generally reliable
The Karizma wont fit your budget, and will be a handful in traffic for you.

If i was you, i would put my money on the FZ. It has a lower fuel economy as compared to the RTR, but it will hardly be a difference of a few hundred bucks per month.

hey skipper thanks for your valuable suggestion

can you tell me about the mileage of FZ and APACHE

i just need mileage above 40

and handling the bike is again important as i am not a very good biker yet..

        just used bike(lml freedom) 2-3 times :|

The FZ and Zma are both outta the specified budget man. The FZ retails for roughly 75k OTR in Bangalore. The Zma for 82k OTR.

The Zma might be a wee bit tall for you as well.
For the 65k budget, a 150 from HH, The RTR, The Uni or a Zuki GS150R will be ideal.
A TD of these bikes oughta help in picking one among the list

          Cheers..!!

              Here as in..?

BTW.. The 65k tag most probably is the ex-showroom price mate

I don't think CBZ-x will suit you... since you are 5'5. Its a pretty tall bike! And the pillion seat is even taller.

Also consider seating comfort and back aches! My CBZ-x gives me back aches on long drives. But not everyone seems to get this... so make doubly sure what you buy suits you.

ok i am thinking about FZ as for now

but can that number plate be removed from it's head to between head and tire ?

how much it will cost to get a better looking headlight for it ?

Krates : I think the current headlight looks fantastic. Any road side mechanic will remove the front number plate for you.
You can have the registration number stickered on the front mud-guard

Go for the Apache RTR it is Powerful and Frugal too, CBZ Xtreme will also be good and will be even more economical. As for FZ it may not even give 40 kmpl most of the time.
Never upgrade without getting your basics RIGHT.

I Second that thought Jasmeet. For the sticker price, the FZ doesnt deliver highly in either the fuel average front nor on performance.

@Krates : Besides.. Im confident that the 65k tag is ex-showroom.
                            Can someone please confirm this..?

                              1. 65k is FZ's Ex-Show room price and it costs 75k in Bangalore at least ... most expansive 150CC bike .. so it sure has premium over other bikes.
                              2. Avg as per different forum posts is 35-42kmpl .. even show room guys quoate 45 kmpl in bamgalore .. so at least expect -5 from the quoted number.

Just sharing with you my own opinion:
I was also considering this bike and for me it didn't make into the finals because it is not VFM from any angle. Mileage is low, price if the highest in the class and it is 1.5 seater :P (which was not acceptable to certain someone) ... So now I have RTR/RTR Fi and Unicorn in my mind.
