Our friend krates here, is not of the same opinion.
He's of the belief that the FZ ad carries the OTR price

@krates : Anyways, if you've made up your mind on a Yammie FZ, kudos to you man
If one is buying a 150 for the first time and doesn't have monetary issues, its a valid purchase. Looks like a bomb, handles well, has super brakes.

And has a rear tyre that puts most SUV's to shame

    Cheers..!!

hey.. i got my rtr fi just yesterday...

both the bikes (fz16 and rtr fi) cost nearly the same of around 75k on road.

      Fz16:
      Plus: looks, yamaha build quality
Minus: lower mileage, no crash guard, 1.5 seater, sad positioning of the number plate, does not sound good for its looks.

      Rtr fi:
Plus: more power, more mileage, rear disc, Fuel Injection, the sound ( you gotta hear it to believe it.. sounds almost like an enfield :P )
Minus: tyres (not MRF), service only at the svc (if its an issue.. )

the comparison is relative and not absolute...

if you are looking for value for money.. look not beyond the Fi ..

      its an unbiased opinion..

      hope this helps..
Lets put a smile on your face

        +1 terrodrone

RTR Fi with price tag 75k is the best bike as per VFM as you are getting really good techs: EFI, Rear Disc and many subtle features on the console .

For tyres I wish TVS can come up with some customization plan at the dealer level on some premium .. say you pay 200-500 more to get MRFs on your RTR .. I would go for that straight away .

The FZ makes 14 PS mate. That translates to less than 14 BHP
And 69.5k OTR is amazing man. Its 75k here in Bangalore

Yamaha is following one price on PAN india level policy, and exshowroom price same all across india.

There is one bike named R15 ..

Its 14 ps or 13.804 Bhp, and there is difference in the on road price of the vehicles according to prevailing state transport authority rule.

Sorry for the late reply. If you could please let me know the following, it would be easier to advise you:
                  1. Do you intend to use it for touring, commuting, pilion riding, heavy traffic areas etc.
                  2. What kind of bike do you prefer: Sporty with new age features/rock solid reliability irrespective of looks.
                  3. Your riding style-conservative or performance oriented?

Man your uncle's friend must be some big man in Yamaha as getting 10 k discount on a 65 k bike is something amazing.

Yamaha should keep a watch on such employees if they really want to be back in market big time.

One can always count on Bandhav to come up with the real answer
You lucky Delhites. Already paying less than us for fuel.

                        And now cheaper bikes too..!!
I fail to see the upside in being a resident of the 'Silicon Valley' of India..

@ Krates : If you've made up your mind on buying up the FZ, then all the best for your new ride mate
Its a good bike if one doesn't factor in the VFM aspect. At 65k, its a decent buy.
Us Bangaloreans have to shell out 75 grand for it
So the enthusiast buyer ends up getting lured away by the RTR-FI whose performance blows the FZ right outta the water.

May you buy your FZ16 soon mate. Do post the colour that you've finalised on etc and then regale us with your experiences on the Ownership thread

                        Cheers..!!

                            Hi,

I am not a bike expert... Still giving my opinion..

I have rode, eXtreme / Pulsar 150 / Hunk / Unicorn and along them, I find Unicorn to be the best !!

then again, its just a personal opinion
