And that's my signature buddy 23.5 bhp one,I didn't wrote it down specifically. And changed my signature now to add v2,these are my thoughts as I think there aren't many guys who own a ns and v2 simultaneously so if I had spent 1.27lac why do you think I will enjoy talking about its demerits, I was solely comparing it to ns and frankly wrote about things I liked in ns

oh ok I thought you were referring to me, . . BTW take it back to the Yamaha and compare it with other R15's. . . If your's is still defective looking than others, better speak about it, as you say you don't pay 1.27lac for something like this, . . As I have also compared them too, I think R15 scores there and as you have both the bikes now, see for yourself which bike lasts real long without not much trouble, which bike takes more beatings, which bike costs less to your pocket, do a one year review and get back, . . A long-term review is best compared o a one day review. . .

If it's in my potential to buy ns and r15 do you really think I would care for long lasting purposes
I know v2 is a long lasting thing than ns, but then again,I have to deal with these bikes for max 4 years only, and then will get new hot rods of 2018-2019. Money wise ns is way more efficient than v2 and yes I accept that ns will feel more used as compared to v2 but then again, most of the people harasses pulsars more brutally and then say about crappy bajaj quality, if maintained properly, bajaj is also along with these non desi companies
And the paint ,well let me go back to showroom after diwali and then will check, but I think probably it's same in all v2,but will surely check first
Btw, when you took your v2,were there 3-4 ok tested stickers in the plastic fairing around console display ...?

There you go now you only answered it, that's the reason why I am saying all these. . . BTW not all are so rich enough to get two to three bikes or just ride for 4-5 years and sell them off, for some a bike means a true life companion and I repenting for that, having lost my RX135 which still makes me feel worse. . . That's my way of seeing things. . . That's the reason I suggested him CBR over NS as it will last better than NS (agreed by you as well). . . I think you have confused I don't own a R15, . . I have some friends out of which one or two love my riding style, so whenever we meet, I'll be the one riding it . . . I just ride a Honda Unicorn and for at least another year or so, don't have plans for a new bike. . . Just ride with this . . .

Cheers!!!

Sorry buddy if you felt that I was showing off money,no intentions like that pal, just telling you my situation.
R15 is not my full time available bike, it's my cousin `s ,( joint family) And I can have hands on it anytime I want (provided he haven't took it )
And yes if money is not problem then buy cbr, it is great than ns bikewise, not pricewise IMHO

Nah that ain't a problem and same way I also told you not everyone have so much money to cash in everything they love as the thread starter himself said, he wants a bit tension free bike and doesn't want to spend more and also FE is a reason, so he opted out D390. . . So the bottomline is this, choosing a 250R is a sensible option cos you spend more to buy it but later spend almost nil in terms of defects in the long-term and Honda's are really well known for their quality, so that's the reason a CBR is a right option for him considering his views. . . Hope everyone's cleared now of it and let's not take it further. . . Good talk with you . . .

My suggestion is plain and simple. Go for the bike you love because even if you get the best bike out there and dont love it, you will find flaws in it. Likewise you will ignore big flaws on the bike you love.
From the posts I think you want the duke but are holding yourself for the practicality of cbr.
My two cents -Suno sabki karo apne mann ki.

Re: In search of peace! Help me!!

Woah..!! So much of discussion here while I was away test riding both the bikes. Thank you very much, guys, for giving your time and attention to help me choose a bike. I wish I could show you all how much I appreciate this.

So.. As I said, I drove one of my friends' CBR for about some 5 km. The bike was really amazing. It's something which I think takes you to another level of biking adventure.

And there's this another friend who handed over the key of his 200NS. I drove the bike for one full day very extensively in the city and nearby highways. I should say that 200NS is second to none in many ways.

So coming to the decision... Considering my personal preferences and my financial position as on date... I believe I should be well off with Pulsar 200NS. I wouldn't hope to have made the right choice. At least, I know what I'd be missing and I would make amends with something bigger in future (if at all I have to, that is).

Let me give you a small mine example only, I have a Honda Unicorn, it's been nearly five months since I had left it for servicing, except once oil change I have done nothing to it but still my bike is like butter smooth and there's no rattling or drama from it's side, I did rip it many a times in this period, even took it above it's limits and also did two to three times off-roading as well but the bike shows no sign of pissed off or wanting for service. . . Now give me one example similar to this by a Bajaj, I have seen many pulsars but none can take these much beatings, . . If I forget to change my oil then there will be no problem for at least another 1.5k kms on the odo but let that be Bajaj, you'll start having problems with them. . . That's the difference between quality of both. . .
@kilometerkiller hope I made it clearer by my example, . . It's best to spend that extra and live happily for many years than to spend less and face issues (be it minor or major). . .
I can give you a list for NS's pros and cons now,
Pros:
1. Advanced pulsar. . .
2. Has got more features. . .
3. Good power. . .
4. Good for street use. . .
5. Quick. . .
6. Looks unique (but I think this unique will fade off as there's a rumoured 180 in the making which looks close enough to this big disappointment ). . .
7. Can cruise in triple digits without much stress but to overcome that you need to make yourself a custom made windshield. . .

Cons:
1. Tires sucks. . .
2. Complains from many whom I know saying that the brake pads wear off too quickly. . .
3. Minor problems every now and then. . .
4. Needs regular servicing, miss out some servicing like I did for my Unicorn and there will be a big hole in your pocket. . .
5. Though the company's mileage is claimed as 58kpl, majority of the people say that they are getting only 35 kpl. . .
6. Can't match up with Honda's quality still. . .
7. As I said if you don't have a windshield, be ready to face wind blasts at speeds. . .

I guess that's enough points now, hope you got it. . .

PS: My Unicorn's seven years old and 50k on the odo but still when people ride it, they don't believe that my bike has run that much. . .

Cheers!!!

Then the next time I had it to ride for some distance, I liked it very much and thought of considering it for my next bike (which is after CBR150R) and it's still there in my mind. . . I was blown away by his quickness, the sharp braking which I was really amazed to see how from 85-90kph it came until 15-20kph within seconds and with a short distance. . . All these were real good but somewhere something makes me to look at it twice, like the tires, the problems I get to hear sometimes and his frequent visit to the SVC makes me doubt a lot, speaking that way if I have 1.5lac, I would close my eyes and go for a CBR150R rather than spend 1lac for NS cos I believe in long-term use and stress-free bike, every bike is not perfect but it's always better to get something with the one giving least trouble. . . I'm not saying this as a negative point nor to discourage some one from buying this, it's just my opinion, it may take good beatings but how I ride my Unicorn, I don't think it'll match up to my unicorn that way. . . That's it said and that's the reason urging him to go for a CBR so that he'll have a stress free bike for real long time. . .

Sincerely speaking here, neither 200NS's 23.17BHP nor CBR250R's 25BHP impressed me in anyway, but still I love their performance which they do in their respective classes and I ain't a power hungry guy. . .

PS: No offense to anyone or any product, I do love NS but it's not my cup of tea as I am a sports bike lover. . .

Cheers!!!

Thank you very much Rakesh Rok for your time and patience. CBR250R is a wonderful bike. I'm just not there yet!

The difference of cost can be seen while riding the unicorn and P150.

Now Bajaj is not that behind from any brand today.

I have a Kawasaki Bajaj Aspire, Yes when kawasaki was with Bajaj.
it's more than 12yrs old, more than 1L kms run.
Hardly do any service, I am servicing it in every 6-8 months. Still runs great. Never stops in between. I hardly remember if I have followed the service schedule after 2 yrs owning it.
Now i use it only on weekends from past 3 yrs.
So even Bajaj had some good products.

No words for Honda!! It's a gem !!
Thank you very much somen1984. I can relate myself to what has been said in above post. I learnt to drive in my dad's Kawasaki Bajaj Caliber 100 CC. My dad had this bike for 12 years and the bike served without any slightest niggle and he still misses that bike.

Ride them.. And get the bike fast.. Thinking too much is sometimes bad.. You would get confused and take the wrong decission..

We all want you to get the best so are focussing on the best out of the lot of your choices which suits your needs... if you had any constrains like budget, we would have suggested you Pulsar 200NS, which is a very sweet bike near one lac.....

The best thing for you to do is to take a test ride of your choices....take a biker friend along if you can..

I really appreciate your words valkyrieX7. Yes, budget constraint indeed is a major factor that played a role in my decision. Thanks again..

I would stay away from the NS if I were you.NS does have the power, but you can't compare it to a CBR in terms of reliability and many other things. Duke 200 is also good, but if you are a tourer, its best to get the CBR. In my opinion dukes are best suited for city riding, yes even the 390 though its a lot more powerful. You would be a much happy tourer on a CBR than a Duke.
Thanks dude.

If you LOOOOVE fairing bikes and have 2 lac to spend without a thought cbr is what you need ( I believe cbr is way better than ns but then again for almost double the price of ns, it just doesn't justifies itself...
And if you wanna enjoy head to head with cbr, duke(up to a limit LoL) And still wanna save cash like hell, p200's is the beat you cam get,and if you doubt clutch, engine quality, then assuming your pulsar parts go kaput in 4 years, still if you change them,it won't cost as much as total the value of cbr. ..

FINAL VERDICT money saving with almost same feel Ns
fairing lover with manageable expenditure of 2 lac cbr

200cc sized 23.5 bump of raw power..!!
Finally, it is the 200cc sized 23.5 bump of raw power that I'll be bringing home soon! Thank you, pal.

From the posts I think you want the duke but are holding yourself for the practicality of cbr.

This is the most informed decision that I've taken in my life so far, knowing both consequences and what I'd be missing. I better shall not regret, and I hope the bike will not let me to!

I thank each and everyone of you who have helped me in choosing Pulsar 200NS. I shall keep you guys updated as I get the bike in this week.

I do understand your present situation , no probs as I said it's also a good bike and you have made a good choice. . . As I said,
1. Get it serviced properly and don't miss it out. . .
2. If you can, try to change those tires, as the present stock tires are the worst. . .
3. If you need extra fittings like windshield, contact me will give you some inputs. . .
4. Get together with other members in the Pulsar 200NS thread, they will guide you more . . .

Once again happy purchase and wish you a very happy and prosperous deepavali . . . Indeed hope you'll get something big in the future. . .
