In my opinion, 650's are more practical on Indian roads, think again, if you are already riding a 650 cc bike, then go for a liter class bike. if you are new to Super bikes better start with a 650Biker of the Year -2013
1987 Yamaha RD-350-B
2009 Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi
2017 aprilia SR 150

First of all which bike do you ride now???
You say you are inexperienced with high end bikes....its better to start with a 650
In 650 you have option of Kawasaki Ninja 650r, Hyosung GT650R or if you can wait then triumph is going to launch their bikes in India in which Daytona 675 is a better optionLiving long depends on fate, living a fulfilled life depends on yourself.

Mate! I don't know u. But the way you started by saying that you have no experience with high end ones, its the best advice i could dish out with your limited inputs.
By the way i do not think of you as a rash rider! But without experience , a liter class bike would be riding you more then you would be riding her.
I just hope n pray that you are a born talent and good with your reaction time!
If you actually get yourself one, i suggest upshifting below 6k rpm every single time till you think you are in super command of the bike.
Ohh wait , increase this golden rule to 6mnths past the time you first think you are in command. You're never lost if ya don't care where the road is headed

Haha funny. But seriously is riding a super bike that difficult? I have read of few xbhpians who jumped literally from no riding experience to a SBK. I have not ridden one. Have you?Originally posted by dustom_99 View PostIf you actually get yourself one, i suggest upshifting below 6k rpm every single time till you think you are in super command of the bike.

I think you should first ride the 390 more since it is a new bike. Ride it for few months(maybe a year), get familiar with it and then move on to a liter class or a 600 cc supersport.Originally posted by manthan4040I own a KTM Duke 390 and a Royal Enfield bullet 350 classic.
Cheers

Ok, and I thought people use their first post in "Who are You?" thread first for introduction.
Anyways coming to the thread starter's query, which he has still not mentioned what it actually is. We should wait what he wants and clarify his needs.
But in any case I would suggest him to go for mid level bikes rather than jumping to litre class.
P.S : Its easy to go with the flow of the trends.Fare thee well xBhp, All the best for being the biggest name in corporate world

Ninja 650 seems to be a better option than litre class....

Re: Asking help from experienced bikers in selecting an around 1000cc bike.
Since you already have D390 & TB your second bike problem is sorted (Big Bikes and touring on Indian roads dont mix together)
Coming to your question which 1000cc or + bike in 10-13 L you need to ask yourself following questions,
As you are currently using a street & Cruiser type bikes do you want to continue with same??
If the answer is yes then you have following options -
Yamaha FZ1
Honda CB1000
Suzuki Bandit
wide range of HD range...
However if you are looking for full fairing Sport Bike then I am afraid but not many option as due to recent change in pricing all the fully faired models have gone 16+ L
still there are 2 options open for you,
Triumph Dayton R
Old stock of Ducati 848 Evo still with dealers (I have hear couple of dealers from Bangalore still have them and are willing to sell in 13-14 L range)
Another option is to hunt for used / pre-owned / pre-worshiped whatever you would like to call bikes
you will have plenty of them in market right now but PLEASE ONLY CHOOSE INDIAN INVOICE bikes
My pick in 1000cc Sport class,
Yamaha R1 - 2010 Crosspane
Honda CBR 1000 RR
Ride to Mt. Abu, Rajasthan - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/tourer/1...is-desert.html
Ride to Konkan - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/tourer/2...ploch-asa.html

Things like z 1000 sx is on the way.
