  • Suggest some bikes

    Hi All,

I want to buy a new bike and have a budget of Rs. 1 Lakh. It must have decent mileage. I am confused between Unicorn, Pulsar 200ns, Apache, CBZ Extreme, Fazer. My height is 6 feet 2 inches and weight is 90kgs, am a well built person. I have to travel daily around 50 kms to my office and home. I may also travel from Chennai to Trichy which is around 350kms. Just exploring options. In the 50kms that i ride to office almost 80% will be on the highways so the bike must be sturdy enough to withstand high winds.

I dont want the feel that i would be swept of along with the bike at high speeds as i felt it while going in splendour at 60km/hr.

I dont mind the weight of the bike and the fuel economy that i get. I just want a bike with which i will enjoy the ride while going in the highways and feel the power of the bike.

I have a feel that fazer and apache might be small for my height. But anyway please correct me if i am wrong and give me your opinions.

    Thanks in Advance.

Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Go for Unicorn if you love a decent bike, with decent mileage and decent looks. Fazer is also a good choice if you are not that much specific on mileage. Apache RTR 180 ABS is also a good option as it is under 1lakh and sports a ABS which is very good for braking. Personally I am not into pulsars so no comments.

        Pulsar 200 ns without doubt.
I own rtr 180,its comfy for me but some of my friends over 6 are feeling cramped while riding. So test ride and see how you feel.

Go for RTR bro,,as pet your height it will suits you mileage is decent and everybody knows about its handling and performance,ABS is also a good option. Unicorn is replaced by Trigger now its good but very underpower same goes with fazer and CBZ also. RTR 160 now comes in racing white and its quite impressing you will get good mileage also. Rest depends on you,and plz test drive all your choices and do let us know the bike you choose.
          All the best, drive safely

            Get a Karizma. . .

200NS also seems a good option but high speed windblasts will be a problem if you can't work out a windshield for it which you should do it yourself. . . Or else look for p220 too, that's also good and Fazer also seems a good bike but now it feels too underpowered, so these are my choices. . .

            Cheers!!!

              Re: Suggest some bikes

Karizma zmr suits you the best(blend of all 5 comfort , power , handling , reliable , stable at high speeds) other options :-
p220 if you want more power but less reliable than karizma
apache 180 its great bike with abs its one of the safest bike available under 1 lac and the compact size of the bike is very helpful while rideing in city traffic great handling and power but not as comfortable as karizma
r15 its slightly overpriced form your budget but its the most stable bike at high speeds and one of the best handling machine but lacks comfort

Zmr bro. Weight vanishes when you're riding and personally I feel its better than 200ns on highways cause it gives better mileage (45-50kmpl on highways), is comfortable and wind effects are more on the NS. That's how I felt when I rode it.
The next best option would be NS.

Fazer, cbz, unicorn, if you're going for highway ,these are just battery powered yo bikes( please owners don't jump on me)
For you ,best will be karizma, highway check ,power check ,mileage check hero trust check
                  Or you may consider ns
Depends upon what bikes look takes on you. .
According to your riding pattern ,best buy will be karizma

                    Re: Suggest some bikes

The P200NS IMO won't suit tall guys.. the bike looks pretty small to me... I mean.. its just how I have seen the bike..

You have the Karizma/ZMR coming under that bracket.. both offer good stability on highways and have one of the most reliable engines in the world serving more than 20 years.. was used in Honda bikes prior to Karizma/ZMR...

ZMR - Best in class FE.. good performance on highways.. reliability factor is very good.. very strong body.. coming from a person who crashed 3 times in a single month and yet only one crack on the right fairing with of course scratches... My bad time

ZMA - Good Performance on highways and city.. reliability factor is very good.. the body is a little weaker than ZMR.. coming from a person who never crashed on the ZMA but the body weakened due to weak body..

The Fazer is good.. but being a 150 cc won't be fun to ride on the highways as you will feel the lack of power.. and dude your weight will push down the power even more.. same goes with the Unicorn and CBZ....

The RTR180 is a good choice but again.. for a guy with your height.. that is gonna be a difficult task to ride long..

my suggestion would be to test ride all the bikes and select the one that you feel comfortable with

Zmr is best in his case but buddy I think you may have seen a low scale model of ns, not actual bike
Is 5'11.5 a short guy...? I look perfect on ns and to put my both feets properly onto ground (not just toes) I have to sit slightly towards the petrol tank ,

Battery powered yo bikes , I can kick an RTR180's A** in a drag race with my unicorn with just minor tweaks and if I just tune it a little more, you're blue edition fairing style v2 will also stand aside , see what you comment and don't underestimate anyone/any bike, you'll never know what it's true capabilities are . . .

I started biking with a friend's pulsar 150 and fz, I was quoting as I wrote to give a proper understanding of what the questionnaire will feel when he will be riding highways ,unicorn, Frazer, rtr goes 120 no doubt ,but it's not about top speed, it's how your bike takes you there and what feel you get when you get there ..
