Suzuki samurai.... No problem...

Sry about that... He he...

Ask your friend to buy kaizma or a zmr. They are fairly low maintainance compared to others. On a bigger budget it has to be the cbr250

1. Karizma ZMR/R (both are good bikes with the prior having better mileage)
2. Yamaha R15 (great things do come in small packages)
3. Pulsar 200NS (IMO the best bike by bajaj till date)
4. CBR 250R ( Proven tourer with a lot of juice)

Of lately after going through the 390 Duke ownership thread, I am not really sure if it's a tension/hassle free bike and hence wouldn't recommend the same.
Updated - He shortlisted cbr 250 and Pulsar 200 NS. And since i happen to own a NS, there are no major issues with it what so ever (mine dint even have vibrations) ,so i guess he ll just take a test drive of cbr, and decide.

Re: 0 maintenance bike?

Guys are we here to find fault in someones language - Zero maintenance is a widely used term and people end up using it for low maintenance. It is quite evident from his post that he needs a '0 issue' bike.

In 15K kms, 2.5 years, my Fazer has never seen SVC. I didnt even went for free service after the 2nd one. I call it zero maintenance.

Suggestions for the threadstarter would be an R15 and CBR250. I think these are the bikes which would take him the least to the SVC and arguably 0 issues.

Thank you muztariq, my intentions was to ask for a 0 or low issue bike only.
And update - my friend has gone for a cbr250.

Really liked the Monk's comments on the reason mentioned for the title. Also surprised why not much soldier form the 'Royal' army are not prosecuting the TS for that .

By the way, @TS CBR250 would be perfect choice for your buddy. Not just because of the 2L budget, but also considering the niggle free Honda engine and endurance and also suffices the power / torque needs of your buddy.
