  • Sugessions Please...

Hi guys, i am binoy... i own an '88 model yamaha RX100 for more than 3 years and now i had spend almost 21,000RS. for its reworking... but after the release of yamaha FZ16(which my room mate owns) i liked the bike very much(even though it does not have much power as my RX)... i liked its handling and comfort...

So i am in a confusion whether to sell my beauty and buy FZ16 or not...
many guys approching me for the bike... one guy said he will give 25,000RS.i told him i will sell it for only 27,000RS... coz bike is in goog condition...

What to do? whether FZ16 will be a good competitor as of my beauty... (whether i sell or not???)...So ur sugessions are welcome...

    Thanx in advance...

Binoy, nothing gives u the kick of a 2-stroke, that too a screamer like the Rx. If u want out and out performance I wud suggest u look at the R15 or RTR. Beyond that, its ur call!!!

        Comparing a 2-stroke to a 4-stroke aint justified.
The FZ is more comfortable / safer / fuel efficient / better looking wrt to the RX. But the thrills of a 2-stroke cannot be matched.
But if i was u, i would sell the Rx for say 25k - use it as a downpayment and get the FZ for a lot of reasons

@Aparajith... my first option was R15... there are two reasons not to choose R15.
First of all i dont have that much amount to buy it...
and second thing is that i didnt ride that bike and my RX gave me a mileage of 39-41... with a good power... i heard the mileage of R15 is below 30... i cannot afford that much mileage...

bcoz of a yamaha fan i will never opt/believe in other bikes like RTR etc... if ti may give more power than FZ16.

          thanx for ur sugessions guys...

@skipper this is the idea in my mind... but the question is that will FZ16 will be worth full or not...

Binoy am an R15 owner. I have been using the R15 for city and touring. It never fails to give u a mileage less than 40. Of course the cost is high. As for the FZ, it gives a much lower 35 - 40 kmpl average. Check the ownership thread and make u decision.

Hai Aparajith... can u tell me what is the top speed of R15... i heard it can touch 140km/hr smoothly... as one of my taste is for R15... and i never met an R15 guy ever... can u tell me abt the bike some...
whether ur bike is ready cash or loan??? if loan what will be the downpayment ???

WILL IT GIVE MILEAGE MORE THAN 40... in city conditions??? wow thats great...

and my question is why cant we get a good mileage on FZ16(it has less bhp than R15)...

The main probs is that i have no option to ride R15 and check it...

The R15 will show 140km/h, but not easily though

I have done 135 on speedo till now. I got it on loan. For details ask at Yamaha showrooms itself as I got it only thru Bussan Auto Finance. Yes, it does give mileage more than 40. FZ does not give that high a mileage due to its short gearing and wide tires.

Then getting the credit facility/loan will be tough atleast for an expensive bike like R15.

These days it is difficult to get loan for most of the bikes... but he is planning to do Rs 25K down-payment. So, if he wants the FZ, it would be 45-50K more . On a 2 year loan term that comes to less than 2K (guess, no math involved) and he has a good chance of getting a loan.
