For your budget, if you are considering anythin in the 150cc zone, consider FZ and RTR 160.
If you are ready for somw little less ccs, consider P135, SS125 and Discover 125ST(all three actually deliver more power than their class and occassional tours will not be a problem at all).
    Test ride and decide!

FZ - if you want a reliable and good engine, beautiful chassis... but its going to ask for revs sometimes and that can affect your mileage.

GS150 - is definitely good, has a decent engine and rather smooth... its a Suzi thats why.

RTR160 - Nice solid bike but vibrates a little 5k rpm... engine refinement is not as good as Honda's or Suzi's.

CB Trigger - Nice refined bike with that little bit of extra... should be apt but maybe the style and overall experience displeases you... you had a pre-owned one before right? Which matters.

Anyway... hope u make a good choice... i see this going the FZ way... Its a fantastic bike if you can keep a control over the rpms if u need mileage... but its a yami... it asks for it.

Pillion seat of FZ will not be comfortable for a lady pillion sitting side ways. If that would have been not the problem I would have definately gone for FZ but now its out of question. I think I should wait for some more days and see whether there will be some good offerings in 2014 which will fit under my requirement. If I have to choose between Honda Unicorn and Honda Trigger what do you guys suggest. I have asked atleast 50 people and out of 50 answer of 45 was go for Uni eyes closed. I personally doesn't like the looks of Unicorn(its my personal opinion) but its a good value for money bike and also has a very high resale value. About Trigger I have seen only 3-4 Trigger on road till date and also sales figure is on the lower side(in Mumbai).

I would say otherwise for this point.
I have a 2011 model, which had a very narrow pillion seat area and my gf has been sitting on it for 2 years now. No complaints.
Also, on the newer models, the rear seat width had been increased and is lot more comfortable.

Well, you should probably wait for the auto-expo, many new bikes might be released.

          Ride safe and have fun.

Bro... you have quite a few precise requirements... Here's what I fond different in Unicorn and CB Trigger.

Their engine although same have slightly different characteristics... The trigger is more of a competition to FZ (it is more rev happy than the unicorn) also has more front wheel bias than the unicorn I think making it more yielding to curves and bending. Also like the FZ its got a huggable high tank to grip it while canyon carving. So basically, Trigger is slightly sportier to handle and ride than the unicorn but the Unicorn is definitely more comfortable and may even be better for low rev city commuting. I must say though... if you consider Honda Trigger then consider the Yami FZ too. Otherwise Unicorn is your best bet.

Initial pickup of Unicorn is better than Gs150r else it is a good bike with good mileage (50kmpl approx), vibration free smooth ride and very attractive looking speedo console. Also consider height and weight of the bike. My height is 5 feet 8 inch and I was not able to plant my both feet on the ground comfortably and weight of the bike is 150kg. This is the only reason I have to sell my bike. In my opinion Unicorn will give you good value for money (Hassle free maintainance, easy availability of spare parts and good resale value). I suggest you to take the test ride and than decide. BEST OF LUCK.
I test rode the GS150 yesterday, it was a 3 yr old bike. Was facing lot of problem with the gear shifting (wonder if it will be smooth in a new GS). Also I felt that bike was not easy in turning as compared to pulsar/hunk (maybe coz of the weight). The thing i liked best is the seating comfort, amazing and wanted to go over speedbreakers over and over

Should I opt for this bike as I am very new to biking? For a new biker which bike would be best in 150cc?

Re: Wanted help of xbhpians to select me a new bike.

Gear shifting of GS150R is quite smooth but not as smooth as that of UNICORN. You are right at turns GS150R is not as nimble as most of the bikes because of its weight but for highway cruising its one of the best bike. Bikes heavy weight and 6th gear is a big advantage for highway riding but noto for city. Another problem is the availability of spare parts and after sales service. If you are going to use the bike for city commuting most of the time then have a look at Unicorn. It is easy to handle in traffic and I repeat again that Uni has a butter smooth engine and gear shift, good mileage and its a very good value for money bike. Also have a look at Honda CB Trigger. Bike has not got a good response in market but its a very good bike. It has got the same Unicorn engine but with different tuning which gives 1 bhp(14bhp) more power than Unicorn and also it offers some added gizmos such as fully digital speedo, rear disc, both front and rear tubeless tyres. The dimension of bike is also smaller than Unicorn which makes it very easy to cut through traffic. Honda has done a lot of cost cutting in this bike(for eg: switch gear of the bike is total crap considering the price of the bike). At present I think Unicorn is a safe bet and after some years if you want to upgrade Unicorn will give you a good resale value which GS150R or TRIGGER or most of the bikes would not give. Dont take the decision in jiffy, take test rides, think what you want and what you are comfortable with and then decide.
