Re: Help needed 'not' what but 'from where'

hyper- Yeah, I guess so. But I thought it was an entirely different issue,so didn't feel like bumping up an old thread, especially where I was asking which bike to go for. To quote a part of your sig, lets just "move on"
anuj bhai- that's a pretty exhaustive piece of info, kudos! But, I got an offer to buy a 2013 July P220 for 70k, 5k done (something's fishy, right?) and another 2012 for 60 something. And I just something right now, 2011->2012, the price of 220 gets pretty steap, doesn't it? 30k more..any idea why?

That list had 2 hours daily of mine for 3 months, and I rejected about 500+ pulsar bikes, and you can rely on a bikers info about bikes.
Yes as 2012 pulsar 220 was like 8-10 months old only in.July 2013 and had done only 2000-4000kms.
Nothing fishy in your July 2013 p220 ,see my example, I bought 200ns on 12 July 2013, and my bike has done only 2500 kms, although I ride daily ( take her to spin and speed bursts) .so nothing fishy in that low kms.
And thanks for pointing out, remembering error in those prices, anyways corrected

So just because a guy doesnt know engine oil, you walk away???
When buying a second hand bike? No second thoughts, yes i would walk away. The money's at stake mate. Engine oil is a very important critera, that too for a P220. Using any other grade than a xW50 completely screws the engine in the long run.

There do exist people like me, who would pass it on to the trusted mechanic if anything goes wrong and cant be arsed about what engine oil is used, as long the bike is smooth to ride.

And personally IMO, non-petrolheads have better bikes, because they aren't thrashed as much as we petrolheads thrash our bikes.
There are n number of mechanics who have no idea about the grade of the oil to be used for 220 engines.
Ask anyone and they would say : "Castrol oil daldo" but AFAIK castrol doesn't have a W50 grade oil, not that i have come across. I have seen people driving 6000kms+ on a Bajaj DTSi oil, as its written on the Bottle that its life is 10000kms. Where as the actual life is just 1500-2000kms. And not changing the oil at the correct intervals, its like slowly killing the bike.
And all this harsh treatment to a non-refined (like the pulsar) engine, and expecting it to run beyond 40k kms?!
I am not talking about a commuter bike like splendor, where you just fill petrol and make it run. All i am saying is that the Owner should atleast be knowing the engine oil used for a performance bike like 220.

Just my 2 cents.
It's a lot like nuts and bolts - if the rider's nuts, the ride - bolts!
