NS or ZMA considering you are 6ft

NS if you like to ride faster and ZMA if you still love the old tech charmer.

as the Monk has answered, just go with 200NS, it's the best VFM product under 1lac in India presently and yes increase your budget to 5k to get the best bike. . .

        Cheers!!!

does the 200ns comes with mf battery or the normal one? i have read the ownership reviews its a great bike but still what could be the major problem of concern in 200ns? is it the tyres?
after how much kms can i use semi and fully synthetic oil in it? and which one is best for it? in ghaziabad the best fully synthetic available is shell ax7 advance 10w40.

            Its comes with normal battery.
The tyres are not that bad. If you buy it now, you can change them in monsoon season.
for warranty, you have to use company oil. Else you can use SS or FS after 6-7k kms.
For more, read the ownership thread. All these have been discussed numerous times in detail.

            Ride safe and have fun.

I would have included fazer in your list purely because of its wind tunnel tested fairing. Its very comfortable and exceptionally smooth.
If you dont want to ride above 90km/hr consistently add this to your list. Though 200NS and Fazer are very different in acceleration. But on long straight roads a fazer would be more comfortable. But always remeber for the 4 year period you would be living with a 150 cc engine.

                Hi Priyank,

NS200 for you then for good sitting posture, good stability at 100 kmph a VFM, but if you are taking pillion on daily basis then it can be uncomfortable ride for him/her and might curse you for it because of shorter width seat compare to other commuter bikes, indeed NS is pure breed of street bike not made for carrying loads on it
however if you are not in rush then I would advice you to wait till auto expo 2014, even updated Karizma ZMA -R can serve your purpose, as you've mentioned you intend to use the bike more than years. apart from Hero there are several other companies who are bound to release their new steeds so patience is virtue!

there is a mechanic at hero svc. i talked to him. he adviced me to buy karizma r and when i talked to him about new karizma r and zmr, he said that new product would be launched one month after auto expo and new bike remains on testing for 2 or 3 months as the new engine might have problems like head leak etc. he told me that when achiever came, it had the problem of head leak so he adviced me to buy karizma r now and i cannot wait for much time.

now please give me advice considering all conditions ns or karizma r. i have no question on the reliability of karizma but had a question of reliability about 200ns and i also know that bajaj service centre are worst, they don't know how to take care of the bike. but i love ns too. so please tell me does it have serious problems like other pulsars and please advice me soon as i intend to buy within a week only.

personally i have not included fazer due to following reasons:
1- its a 150 cc bike and i have already rode cbz xtreme and apache rtr 160(bought in 2012 and stolen on 16th jan)
2- it has dual headlight but both won't function together at high beam(stock condition) and it increases the price by 5000 than fz.
3- its oversize rear tyre wears out soon and develops chichken strips too which leads to many punctures and mileage is also less for a 150 cc bike.(my apache used to give 40 worst at ripping and 50 best).

just worried about spares availability as it is 10 year old bike, only thats the problem plus it still has tube type tyres.

I think you should definitely consider R15, which for 10K more will give you loads of fun and is a beautiful machine from Yamaha and being relatively new means no spares problem for many years.

Priyank, I would advice you to go for Karizma ZMA-R /ZMR if you can shell out extra 20K, as far as maintenance concerns it is fill it shut and go engine a proven horse, just keep an ey on her routine servicing and oil change it will serve you as it should be.

Earlier days it used to be a hassle for spare parts but now a days the wait is bit shorter compare to earlier days. (again depends on parts)

                            1. If you are not speed freak, Karizma is anytime better, you can always visit ownership thread, and people still vouch on it's reliability, I understand it is old technology compare to other makes but it is proven steed.
                            2. As far as ZMR concerns it is better Karizma or bit improved tech than it's carb sibling, it has FI which is responsible for bit better FE than carb version.

Though these bike has few downsides as well for e.g poor head light/ slippy tires but you can't expect everything from one single motorcycle.

In other hands 200 NS has better technology, higher power but I am not quiet aware of it's reliability as I don't own one and I've not ridden it more than 100KM but you can visit ownership thread and check.

As you've mentioned you wouldn't be purchasing new bike until next four years, I would advice you to do research prior to making any decision.

But i can surely tell you that if it Karzima (be it any version) you would certainly start liking it's refinement and comfort.

thanks for the advice. well i can't extend my budget more than 1 lakh, as this would be my third bike. i had to sell my cbz xtreme in 2012 due to some reason then purchased apache and it had been stolen and i cannot pressurise my parents to extend budget more. so i intend to buy a bike which would last 4 to 5 years as i am in btech 2nd year, i would buy after btech with my own salary so my current bike should last till then.
my main concern is comfort, smoothness as well easeness to gain speed. the torque of both karizma r and pulsar 200ns is same. karizma is 10 years old though i had driven it and i love it, it has still got tube type tyres. 200ns comes from a brand which is not reliable and credibility of bajaj service centres is questionable. i was reading the ownership thread of 200ns and it has 1400+ pages so it is a lot of research thats why i wanted advice, specifically if owners of 200ns can give.

and my last query is can wheel lock be installed in 200ns? if not then i can't buy it as my apache was stolen. i am asking this question because the front mud guard goes all the way down and there is no space for wheel lock.

as wheel lock cannot be installed in ns, i have to discard it as parents won't agree. what is the disadvantage of tube type tyre over tubeless?
