  • Confused between Bajaj Avenger and T-Bird 350

    Hello Everyone,

This is my first post so will try to keep it as simple as possible.

I have decided to buy a new cruiser bike (Currently I own a Pulsar 135). First I decided upon the T-Bird 350 but later some of my colleagues who own the T-Bird told me "T-Bird has many problems and buy T-Bird after knowing the problems". Then I zeroed upon Bajaj Avenger.

Now I know Bikers will kill me if I compare a T-Bird with the Avenger but still would like to know the opinion of all.

I will drive mostly in Kolkata streets which are packed up.

Please tell me the PROS and CONS of both and help me clear the air of confusion.

    Thanks in Advance.

    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

I own new Thunderbird 350. It's great to ride in cities and in highways. Newer RE's are more reliable as of any bike in India. It may give you small niggles like oil leaks etc but that all can be easily rectified during regular services from a good A.S.S. I personally will not prefer avenger and also Bajaj itself is going to dump avenger and bringing in new cruiser in the near future. Thunderbird is one of the most comfortable rider's bike in this price range. It has very relaxed driving position. Go for it mate.
It's not about how hard you get hit... It's about how hard you get hit and just keep moving forward.

Your story may not have such a happy beginning... But that doesn't make you who you are... It is the rest of your story... Who you chose to be.

I have been riding avenger for the past 2+ years. Maintaining it was never difficult for me. Just regular services and never got any problem.

The New version of avenger is more reliable.

Regarding your issue for packed traffic city ride. During initial days you might find it tough to ride, but very soon you will get used to the bike and riding will not at all difficult.

Cruiser for just city rides ? Avvy is nice bike ofcourse, but it has more cruiser genes than that of TB. Avenger can be enjoyed in long rides. Go for TB it is easier to ride in city than the Avvy.
Its crime to ride a car alone, so I ride bike :).

                Go with tbird 350 .
New UCE are very reliable and don't have any problems.
It also has better road presence and good torgue.
                Plus its a BULLET !.

Bullet anytime over Avenger. Avenger will soon be ditched by Bajaj anyways.
Your height may also be a deciding factor, if you are a tall guy TB will suit better.
I don't know how much its true but 2 of my friends said they getting 40+ kpl in TB.
And yes as someone said above it's a BULLET!

Neither avenger nor TB will quench your thirst if you drive around 'packed' streets predominantly. I guess you are taking the wrong foot mate. There should be lot more factors such as budget, maintenance, features, power, etc., that will help decide a bike for you.

brother depends upon whether you are going for long tours or not..otherwise

1.avenger is little bit difficult in heavy traffic with a heavy pillion or unbalanced pillion(a pillion who does not know to properly sit in the backseat)
,i own an avenger 220 which gives me a FE of 40 in city and around 50 in the Highway, it requires regular oiling of chain and sprocket to keep the smoothness, it shares the same engine with p220, only difference in cab and CDI.it is a reliable bike.you can do long stretches on this bike at a speed of 70-80kmph peacefully.simple machine with less cosmetics apart from the fake chrome so maintenance cost is much less. .

as others say production of this bike may be stopped soon, getting the body parts could be difficult then.

2.TBTS UCE is a new version it is reliable and FE is good. you will get lot of help from bullet lovers to solve your bike related issues.much more comfortable to handle.complex instrument panel and cosmetics so spare part cost could be high.

both bikes are big so difficult to park in a congested a place. both bikes are stable to the wind blast.needs to keep clean and shiny to maintain the glamor and to save them from rusting. own it if you mean it and remember" Dont treat your bike like a slave, it will take revenge in a dark and cold highway on a lonely night"...

                        Ride Safe brother.

Who said avenger is getting discontinued?
Mr. Bajaj had said they would launch new crusier last year. And they launched Pulsar 400CS.

I don't see how 400cs will be a replacement for avy?

brother it "May be stopped".....because Hyosung GV250 and RE TB 350 are there with stunning looks, probably they would introduce a new design. with a price tag of 1.25-1.75 Lac, to capture the market.
