first of all a very big salute to all members of this site for giving every info about any bike in detail... ( sorry for my bad eng in advance , i am still learning)

My Info : name - shiv
    age - 20
hight & weight- 6 ft. tall and 65 kg
qualification - a student of graduation & prepairing for civil services...

yesterday my father suddenly said that shiv you should now buy a bike for your daily use ( 20 - 40 km ) on your next b"day ( 5 aprail)
Father"s condition - bike should give good milage( atleast 55 )& LOW maintainence
it should be under 65000 rs and
it should be a long term bike (for ATLEAT 10 YEARS).........

My Requirment & thinking - As it will be my first bike i think why not buy a bike whose look
    is differ than other and milage is good too ..{ a little sporty and comfertable ( because my mom will go with me to her office )}

    - As road of kanpur are not very good for a sport bike and IT WILL AFFECT MILAGE OF BIKE
i dont think pulsar 150 , and other 150 cc bike will be a good choise.
( trigger was my first choise but its std version cost me around 78000 on road a little costly )

    - my city is fill with discover and passion pro ( i don't know why but 9 out of 10 bikes are these two )but as i said
i want a new looking and differ bike than other so i am not thinking about these two...

    - i pesonally dont like hero igniter and honda stunner look & my family will never like it too.

My Choices - After doing a lot of search over internet and with friend my choices are.........

    1-) Honda Twister ---

its best version cost 60000 approx on road and it fill my all requirements...
( Pros = Milage not confirm 60 kmpl ,fun to ride in city,Honda reliability
(Cons = Pricey,Bicycle like rear tire i heard about its disk breake and chain cover prob too
will it need high maintainence & SMALL LENTH OF BIKE )

    2-) pulsar 135 ls---

its cost around 65000 on road and fill my all requirments
(PROS:- It’s a 4-valve dts-i 135cc engine , Its got a stylish design ,an average of 55-58 kmpl not sure
(CONS:- The seats are not very comfortable , at the speed of 75kmph the bike starts vibrating ,

    3-) Bajaj Discover 125 st---

its cost around 62000 on road and fill my all requirements ( IT WILL BE MY 3RD CHOICE)
    (PROS:- good look , 60 milage not sure , 4-valve dts-i 125cc engine
(CONS:- i don't like discover i think you got why)

THESE ARE MY CHOICES NOW PLEASE TELL ME WHICH ONE SHOULD I BUY OR ANY OTHER ...
AND ONE THING I FORGOT TO SAY I DON'T HAVE ANY G.F. AND I DON'T WANT BECAUSE
MY CARRIER IS MY FIRST AND LAST LOVE

    YOUR NEW FRIEND

Twister is very short geared and not fun to ride fast.135LS is an old bike and I can't find any new ones on the road.
125st will be a better choice. But personally I will buy a cheaper 100cc(Splendor,Pantero) if mileage is the prime concern. In real world conditions you won't get the mileage told by the company due to various reasons.

Why not mahindra centuro? Go and test ride it. I have never driven it but heard extremely good responses.

Your 2 criterias - 65k cost and 60+ mileage. Means you cant get 150cc bike, so look in the range 110-125cc.

My 2 friends bought trigger. One of them bought only a week back and first service not yet done and still he gets 50+ kmpl. The other one is 2 months old and he gets 58 kmpl. + It is a very smooth bike and easy to change directions as well, felt really comfortable while driving and pillon seat is best in its class I would say. But yes its a bit costly.

Why not go for Discover 125 ST?

For me, cb trigger and paying 80k for it is totally Bs.
If mileage is only concern then buy the cheapest bike.
Manhindra centuro costs 50k and has some small mind blowing features which my ns don't have.

I will say go for Mahindra Centuro. It has many small and amazing features and looks classy for its price. Good on mileage too...

Welcome to the community shiv. You are really a very sweet soft spoken person. Kudos to your upbringing.

If I were to suggest you a bike.. I would suggest a hero glamour or honda shine. Though mahindra centuro is one good bike to have. But, there are many after market parts replacement options available with the bikes I mentioned. In the svc a rear view may cost 100 odd rs but you may find one in 35 bucks somewhere else.

I think 125 ST would be a good option within your budget. I have been using a Discover for close to 8 years now without any issues and have not spent anything much other than regular servicing. Among other brands, I would suggest you to go for a Honda. If you can stretch your budget, buy the Trigger else opt for Shine.

If you can convince your dad, then choose the CB Trigger. On the other hand, in a few years time you should be earning your own money, so perhaps you should buy a 125cc now and buy a bigger better bike when you can afford to buy one yourself.

                              Hi Shiv,

I would suggest go for a bike which has a good suspension setup, considering your Kanpur roads are not very good. I have seen cases in my family where my cousins ( both more than 6 feet tall) have had back related issues due to Bajaj Pulsar after extensively riding in New Delhi. I myself shifted to a monoshock bike due to the same problem after riding Discover for 8 years (Pure gem of a bike!). I would suggest go for the tried and tested Honda Unicorn. Trigger switchgear is cheap and flimsy to use and body panels also seem a bit odd and of poor quality. Besides it doesn't do justice to its hefty price tag.

My final call would be Honda Unicorn, Bajaj Discover 125ST or Honda Shine!

                              Cheers ! Ride safe :-)
