I visited Suzuki motors website and found this machine quite attractive. Now am in a dilemma whether to go for GS or FZ. After going through some threads I found GS is a commuter type bike. I am planning to take test drive of both the bikes before making a decision. My requirement is it should give a decent mileage, comfortable riding and a good look. My usage will be in city traffic and will be traveling around 30Kms per day. But to my surprise I have not found any GS 150R till date in Chennai. Also I have read about rust issue, spare parts availability problems in GS. Have they rectified rusting issue?.
The ride quality of GS is far better than almost all the competitors in the 150cc segment. The smooth engine, good mileage figures, excellent build quality complement the GS's value as a package. Though FZ is better in terms of agility, GS is not bad at all. I am 5'5'' and weigh around 65kgs, and it took me only a couple of days to get along with my bike easily. Yes, it is neither light weight nor agile as an FZ, nevertheless it is still quite manageable in city traffic as well.
Regarding the rust issues, it had been sorted out and even I don't see any such issues reported in forums now-a-days.
After sales service could be a slight problem, but it is subjective. Even Hero Honda svc is pathetic in Chennai. A svc technician did not even know about rear suspension adjustment in my Hunk .
