Re: Bajaj Avenger red color issue?
Query Approved
I have seen most red Bajaj bikes lose colour, though whether that is lack of care by the owners or bad quality from the company, i don't knowBiking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!
Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

Re: Bajaj Avenger red color issue?
Most of the bike wash station use normal washing detergent (nirma/tide) to was the bike and also many Yamaha svc use the same. Using these detergents will naturally cause color fading and dullness. And also keeping the bikes in direct sun also causes color fading.
Not only Bajaj, my red fz also looks dull after washing (i use proper automobile washing shampoo) unless i use some good quality polish to give back the lost shine.
Ride safe and have fun.

Re: Bajaj Avenger red color issue?
I believe the sun and frequency of detergent usage is the culprint here.
I have a 3yr old red avenger and there is no color fading issues. It is mostly parked in shade and hardly washed

Re: Bajaj Avenger red color issue?
It depends. Yellow also fades, but it's difficult to detect because if it fades, it will turn to creamy white. So, not much differences noticeable. All color absorbs wide spectrum or light from the Sun. The sun's ray is polychromatics, so it consist of all visible and non-visible color. Why red color fades so fast, I believe it's because the red color components react by absorbing the blue ray, which in fact has a higher energy so that makes the red color molecules changes (degrades) from time to time.
Blue has shorter wave length, therefore higher energy. If you see in rainbow's color spectrum, red is in the complete opposite from blue or violet. From that, we can see that red will be the first "victim" among other visible color. Of course there are many ways to protect, one of example is to layer it with highly reflective material and UV protection. Just like what we all see in the traffic signal.

Re: Bajaj Avenger red color issue?
I have a red 200ns, no colour fade. ..
1. I have a cover and use it religiously, even if bike stands 10 min out.
2. I don't wash my bike with water much, as bike is covered with the cover.
3. I do wash it by just wet cloth.
4. Apply normal available polish like once a month.
It has been 11 months, and colour is kickass.
And mind you, don't think of my bike as that dirty one, I'm a maniac when it comes to clean bike, I believe when I brought something I love and not everyone can get it, I should make it look at its best and yeah, a little show off too

Looks like sunlight is main enemy here. My problem is I cannot take that much care as there is no shade in college parking and my bike will be out there for most of the time .Originally posted by Anuj_Gupta View PostI have a red 200ns, no colour fade. ..

Re: Bajaj Avenger red color issue?
You can use a good quality bike-cover one you are done with the purchase. I use a canopy cover(the material they make umbrella with - not sure with the name err.) throughout the year.A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.
