About the cbr250r, it's a really good bike. A friend of mine has it and I ride it sometines. But it's way out of my budget.

And even if I could spend that much, the only reason why I would not opt for one is because I would blindly walk into a Royal Enfield showroom and get a Thunderbird 350 or the Bullet 500(black color). Yes, I'm a Royal Enfield fan.

Yes Sir,there is a Whole New Gen Coming up with a "TVS-BMW" Badge and many BMW Tech in Late 2015 or Early 2016.But There is a Small NVH Upgrade nearing for the Apache RTR 180 and RTR 180.You also said you will go Crazy sometimes,Then Only the RTR 180 ABS and Pulsar 200 NS will Impress you.The RTR 180 ABS will give much better thrill and Much better Safety than the Pulsar 200 NS.Whereas the NS is so smooth and scores over the RTR 180 ABS in that extra 20cc Performance and all other Show off Tech (DTS-i,Triple Spark Plugs,Liquid cooling.etc).The RTR's Engine is that Ever-Reliable Fiero Mill so you don't need to worry about reliability as It has been proven itself from the past 15 years and Moreover the New RTR 180 ABS has a completely redesigned seat and a New Foam Cushion Seat so you can expect good Comfortability sir.

I also suggest you to place your Buying,Ownership Report.etc in a Seperate thread (Create a Thread) as It will get lost in all those Apache RTR's 2000 Pages in xBhp !! If you place it seperatly,It will be easier to find te Likes,Quoting.etc and also it will stand out of the crowd Sir. I can be your company as I am also an RE Lover.

Re: Good bike for 60 km daily travel.

You are a college going kid, so I would write off GS150 (its more uncle type vehicle). You want rider comfort, write off Apache, R15 (you did already). So its just FZ v2.0 and the all new Gixxer. Both are very good looking and trendy, reviews are great. You can go for Gixxer if you are an attention seeker (that's surely a looker) and you will be unique ( for a while) in the roads. Only thing I am not sure about is how a meaner bike like Gixxer will look with a 6 foot rider. Take a TD of these two mules, you will be the best judge for yourself.
Its crime to ride a car alone, so I ride bike :).

Fz is seriously underpowered , u can't enjoy the ride , all the time you feel that I need lil more , Gixxer also would have the same issue but yes it will be wayyy better than the FZ

Hahaah! That sums it up. 90% of the story. The other ten percent is for the 200ns.

And yeah, the uniqueness for atleast some time is something I'd like.

As I mentioned earlier, I've done a few good kilometres on the older fz. And to be honest, I did expect that little bit, liiittle bit more from the engine.
Will the new one leave me disappointed(when compared with the old fz)?

The new one will be a bigger disappointment , its refined city bike, power has been reduced. I'm not sure if you would like it

Fz is a proven bike since last 6 years....the new gixxer is yet to pass all the hurdles. ..rest you take the test drive of both the bikes and you will come to know what suits best to you.

I'm from Bangalore and I've been reading through posts on this forum for quite some time now. Actually, it all started with travelogues on Leh-Ladakh. And one day I'll be there too. But that won't happen anytime soon. I'm in college for another 3 years.

So getting to the point, I'm searching for a bike now and I need your suggestions for the same. I will be getting it at the end of about 2 months from now.

My daily travel is close to 60 km (two way), out of which 70% is on the highway and 30% in city where there is not much of traffic.

Occasional rides of about 100-150 km (one way) may fall into plans.

I'm 6 ft tall and weigh 82 kilos.

I'll list out my requirements(order doesn't indicate priority) below.

                        1) I'm looking at 150+cc bikes.

                        2) Priced around 90,000 rupees or max under a lakh rupees on road(it's not from my pocket so I don't want to ask for more).

                        3) I need a bike that can CRUISE COMFORTABLY at around 75kmph and maybe a little more sometimes(for fun).

                        4) FUEL EFFICIENCY OF 44+ kmpl at those speeds.

                        5) Rider seat should be comfortable too.

                        5) Pillion comfort should be decent.(unlike r15 or duke which are very uncomfortable atleast according to me) but I will have a pillion very rarely.

                        6) I'm not looking to beat other vehicles when the light turns green (but wouldn't want an under powered vehicle either).

                        7) I can wait to buy a bike for another 6 months if there will be a better product.

The options(in order of priority) I have in mind are the Suzuki Gixxer 155, Suzuki GS150, Pulsar 200ns, Yamaha FZ FI, Honda CB Trigger.

                        The reason being:

                        Gixxer 155
Pros : new, price, good performance and handling(from reviews I've read)
Cons: I'm not sure about the fuel efficiency and I expect it to be on the lines of fz or slightly better.
                        Can anyone provide exact numbers??

                        GS150
Pros: 6 speed gear box, price, FE
Cons: plain looks, already 6-7 years old
Will there be any update for this bike???

                        Pulsar 200ns
                        Pros : vfm, power, price(considering it's 200cc)
Cons: fuel efficiency(for my requirements) or can I expect good fe figures?

                        Yamaha fz fi
                        Pros: looks, fi, handling
Cons: priced slightly higher than competition, fuel efficiency.
Anybody has an idea about the new fi system's numbers???

                        Honda CB trigger
Pros: silent engine, Honda parts and quality( I personally do not know, just going by history), FE.
Cons: boring looks, being a Honda it hasn't seen much success so not impressed)

I've ruled out the Yamaha R15 because of its riding position and my budget. Otherwise it's a fun to ride bike.

I'm not even thinking of the Honda CBR 150r(overpriced), or the pulsar 150(very common and nothing interesting), pulsar 180.

Out of these bikes mentioned above, I have ridden only the old fz for a fair number of kilometres.

Clearly I'm confused. I'm looking to finish part of the battle on paper and then go for test drive. So please help me out.

                        I currently ride a 2012 Honda activa.

And as I said earlier, I can wait for another 6 months.
                        Or
I may not get a bike at all if I get to shuffle between the activa and car.

                        One more thing.
Though I have completely NO IDEA(like zero percent), is it good to look for USED vehicles?
And under used vehicles can I consider bikes like the rx135, 200ns? Will they meet my requirements? Will they be reliable?

                        Thanks in advance.
I would suggest you better take a test ride of Pulsar 200ns or Karizma R old version(new one just sucks in looks),these both bikes I have ridden have enough power under them and are fuel efficient too.So the rest depends on you [emoji6]

So its now between Gixxer and the NS ..!
AFAIK pulsar engines needs the babysitter in you or else it will kill itself . I dont know how reliable the newer NS engine is..About Gixxer ..its an improved GS150R which specialises much more in the fun department. And the best part is no more babysitting..better fuel efficieny. Just make sure that you've got a Suzuki showroom and SVC nearby because here in Kerala its like a diamond hunt..!!
Oh yeah do take T.D's because it seals the verdict by a lion's share

Sorry for not posting anything for a while. Registered for a competition that demanded almost all of my time.

Rode an apache 180 a couple of days ago. Impressed by the engine and handling! But there are vibrations as everyone says. I think I can manage with the riding posture. If there is a facelift anytime soon I can consider. As of now it's out.

So it's between the gixxer and 200ns. Will take test rides soon.

You are trying to compare a 14.8 ps powered engine to a 23 ps powered one no doubt fuel efficiency would be better in any case for gixxer :|

                                So no bike for now.
