Re: Confused. Need help.

I second that. I myself have bought a duke 390 and it is a great bike. just test ride the bike and you'll see that it is another breed.

BTW Karthik9425 is that an Rc390 I see on your profile pic.......... do tell us all about it.

Took the test ride. Found bike to be less punchy on the low end torque. Less powerful than the duke off the line. But I had good control on the bike and it is more agile. Good bike overall.

It isn't the torque figures
It's just the way the bike is tuned..
It's a more linear and refined power delivery than the dukes hooligan pull :P
Both are equally fun to ride in they're on ways surprisingly the pillion seat is more comfortable than the dukes :P

Well its a matter of perspective. You say refined, I say less powerful. I have had my duke for 4 months now and since its 2nd service was done. The bike has mellowed out quite a bit but power delivery remains the same only much smoother now, In fact smoother and punchier than RC390 I felt.

You're right about the tuning and I suspect it will make the RC punchier past the 100kms mark. But for a race concept machine to be less punchy off the line is not so good in my opinion.

As for the pillion seat. I had to literally hold on to the rider like I was his girlfriend to keep from falling off the bike and the seat is inclined in such a way that I kept falling on the rider with mu entire weight even if he dropped the acceleration just a little. The seat may be softer, but better than the duke it is not. And its smooth texture is not good for someone who's struggling to hang on to dear life.
