  • Is buying Suzuki GS150R is worth in current scenario ?

    Hello Friends,

I am planning to buy a new bike .... my budget is not more than 80K... Staying in Delhi Height is around 6.5".

Infact, earlier too I wants to purchase this bike due to its height and mainly for its sixth gear too, but dropped the idea due to finance and brought stunner in 2013.

    I don't want to pinpoint + / - of my bike (Stunner).

How much price I get achieved while selling my bike, which is almost 1 year old, runs only 9830km with no single scratch and almost in showroom conditions.

My office if 35km far from my home.. which means total journey is around 70km , in which 70% is highway journey.

Now my confusion is that GS150R is almost 5 years old bike which hardly gets any upgrade in mechanical area since it launched.

IS it worth in buying this bike now? or shall I considered other bikes like Hero CBZ / Hero Hunk (If available in market).

Please pitch some light on this.. and help me in clearing my doubts.

    Thanks in advance
    Gagan

    Query Approved

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    THE END

If you are ok with used bikes then you can get a used GS150R at half the price .
I think Suzuki in general are reliable so you will get a good bike easily .
(This is considering that you feel GS150 as an outdated product ).

If you want a new one you can test ride Gixxer and check whether you feel comfy .

My personal recommendation will be Pulsar 200NS which has a tall seating position will suit your needs too.

Regarding the resale value of your stunner a bike loses 15 to 30% of its value in its first year and selling it to an individual will fetch you a good price .
      All the best

Choose between GS or CBZ. Both will be suitable for your height. CBZ will stay in the market for few more years but Not sure how long until Suzuki disbands GS.

Ok...here is what I think....you want to sell your stunner becsuse on highways its not keeping you happy ehh? And the fuel efficiency if you keep it at high speeds aint good. Also....its just a year old... so what I will suvgest is spend about 3000rs on this bike and it will be perfect for 60 to 80kmph higghway cruzing... go buy a really small rear sprocket... your bike is very low geared from the factory that makes it a good city bike... on highways what you require is tall gearing(small rear sprocket can suffice) for relaxed revs at higher speeds.... just go buy a small rear sprocket... say anything that has 4+ teeth lesser thsn your current sprocket... and replace it in the rear... adjust the chsin slack... put in some good engine oil like shell ax7 or veedol super swift or motul 7100, replace spark plug and air filter... get a bottle of system g and add 2 cap fulls every time you fill your tank. replace or rub old brake pads/shoes with sand paper and voila your bike is ready to hit the highway. It will give u better fuel economy too on the highway after the mods... but please note inside city the acceleration will drop and bike wont feel as zippy as before. All this for below 3000rs... worth a shot imo.

Maybe GS150 is an old bike by today's standard, but it's still worth the purchase. It's just like Unicorn - mature and ever reliable. It may appear a litte heavy but that's an added advantage on the Highways(you can keep your bike planted).
Else, you can also have a look at Gixxer. Stylish and comfortable too. Both are from the Suzuki stable.
Within your budget and other requirements, SZ-RR is also a good option.
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

It is heard that Hero will launch Xtreme Sports with 15+ bhp on Diwali, though it is not a confirmed news.
You can take a look at the current Xtreme also.

Okay... its uncertain news ... buddy... even current Xtreme looks small to me due to its rider seating position.. but somehow old CBZ was good..

Whether a bike is worth buying or not depends wholly and solely on what your requirment is and what your taste is. I say if you like it then buy it bro. Its a reliable machine. Also why don't you consider karizma or p220, they are also reliable machines and should be almost in your budget. Freedom of mind on highways and city streets what say?

That is good news indeed. Finaly a company is exiting its 150cc's commuter oriented comfort zone. It'll be good for the hero brand if its true.

Why do you want gas charged shocks in the rear? Trust me a small sprocket in the rear will transform your ride for thr highway. City will be bad though
