  • planning to buy my first bike

    hi there,

This is my first post.I am planning to buy a bike.I live in Kerala. It will be my first bike.I have ktm duke 200 in my mind.
Is it a good bike? My friends are telling me that it has got some complaints,is it true?
what other bike should i be looking for?
If i am buying the duke, how do i take care of it?

    Query Approved

    Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    THE END

Hey buddy, D200 is a good choice. But before we conclude anything, can you tell more about yourself (i.e.) Your physique, what budget, any other bikes you have in mind...some more clues for us to help you

Duke 200 initial batch of bikes had few niggles which is expected from every new bike.. later on they have overcome those issues and the bike doing perfectly well. Dont have to worry about any problems. Besides.. they are machines. We cant expect everything to be perfect. My suggestion. Take a test ride. See how it suits you personally.. its better to decide on your own..

          All the best

For 5.5, 200NS should be an easy fit. R15 has more aggressive riding stance, might bring pain to your back (owners with first hand xperience can say !!!). TD a D200 and see for yourself. Should fit within your budget, Maintenance is ok wise, FE should be arnd 35+ I guess...

You can also consider the CBR 150

If you want a D200, go for it. Most of the problems in newer models have been rectified based on feedbacks. You can check out the ownership thread as well.

Go ahead with D200, I've purchased a month back and he's doing just fine. And not to say about the number of people stopped me and asked the details about him. Which included some cops as well. Moreover it's lightweight, nimble and an absolute hooligan. All the best and ride safe.
