Hi ,In this diwali I am going to purchase a bike i have shortlisted Hero Xtreme 2014 and Honda cb trigger . Please suggest value for money bike having low in maintenance and good FE. if you think other bike will be good please mention
Both bikes are quite close in terms of engine. Even their value for money tag is very debatable.
However, if I was in your place, I would choose CB Trigger just for the Rear Monoshock Suspension, which gives a noticeable improvement, mostly in handling.
Honda spares don't have a reputation of ready availability though, keep that in mind.
Other bikes which you should consider for fuel efficiency are Yamaha FZ v2.0, Bajaj Discover 150S, etc. and both have monoshock suspensions too.
The new FZ is expected to give around 65-70 kmpl on highways, a little lesser in the cities though.
Value for money would be Discover 150S, with less cost, good mileage, low cost of ownership and economical spare parts, etc. but you better maintain it well and keep it single hand for the best ownership experience.

You can check out the Gixxer apart from the FZ V2.0.
Both of them have good engine and are reliable enough.
And from your list, I'd suggest you the Xtreme.
Though Trigger is most comfortable bike for lady pillion, I wont recomend it solely due to bad quality over all. I would suggest Old Unicorn, as it is still good in quality of parts. If your wife is comfortable on Xtreme, you should get it instead of Trigger. Though I don't like its looks, but the good quality parts are still the USP of Hero. You will have a peace of mind. Personaly had a bad experience with Trigger, hence warning you.

After about over a month's research on 150-200cc segment bikes - covering online research, threads/forums/youtube/etc, test rides - I can give you the following ranking for 150/160cc bikes:-
Out of the two, I would recommend Hero Xtreme, It has an old proven engine, fresh new looks, cheap to maintain, good service centers and hero reliability.
Trigger is good too, but the spare parts might be a little bit expensive, and authorized service centers are good for nothing.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.
From my experience with Dazzler, yes its costly to maintain and requires frequent part changing.
But having said that its a very very good bike. Hero's spare parts are comparatively cheaper.

Completely agree. Hero ASS is better than Honda at any point of time(among these two).
Of the two I would recommend extreme as I own one and have crossed 40k kms. Feeling as if from showroom and mileage is approximately 55. The main USP is availability of OE spares outside, service and since you are 6' tall the extreme is taller and bigger than trigger. Also HERO quality is far better. Only thing is that you must maintain it properly and for that we have our ownership thread which has everything regarding maintenance. Take test ride and choose what you like.
You wont go wrong with either one, just add Gixxer and FZ 2.0 to the mix and try them all. Look for comfort level on each of these, that will be an important factor. I am 6" tall, and had a Unicorn, perfect for my height. Last year bought the Trigger, for my height its not as comfortable as Uni. So best thing is to take a test ride and then decide.
As per my experience with Trigger, its a good bike with great manoeuvrability, there is some grunt to it compared to xtreme. In the past one year i didnt spend much on spares or parts. As per FE, its around 45 in the city, city like Hyderabad mind you.
One Major reason to select xtreme over the Trigger would be the service network that Hero has over Honda.. Also Honda has a very poor after sales service. Not that other manufacturers are good with After Sales Service.. It is just worse with Honda.. They act as if they are the kings and they know everything and the customers are just people who know to ride bikes and we know nothing about it..
