  • Best bike for Medical Representative profession....

    Hi Guys...
My brother is planning to buy a new bike....He is MR in a pharma company and currently owns Splendor plus...He wants a bike which is most comfortable in seating position (should have soft seat and upright handlebar) ,must have a self-start and should be a good handler....Comfort is his most important concern...His budget is around 50k....Plz suggest a proper bike for him....I myself own a Honda Stunner but he does not ride it because of uncomfort.....He has shortlisted following bikes :
    Bajaj XCD 125
    Hero Honda Glamor
    Hero Honda Splendor NXG
    Bajaj XCD 135
    Hero Honda Passion pro

Plz suggest suitable bike for him..........

The Glamour has a comfortable seat but in the Passion the driver slides on to the tank when braking. Haven't tried the NXG.

For a comfortable seating position I may even suggest the TVS Star City 110.

How about the Yamaha Gladiator (old model). Very good riding position, soft sat, very light clutch, easy handler but with big bike feel. I am sure it doesn't cost more than the Glamour.

Haven't seen the XCD 135 but the 125 has a puny seat... guess the Platina has a more comfortable seat than the XCD.

The Platina does have a very wide and quite a comfortable seat. The Platina 125 DTS-si should be good compared to the XCD 125.

I would say Glamor PGM Fi would be the best as it has one of the most plush ride .. thanks to good seat and soft socks. And you'll also get HH tag with FI.

Thanx all for ur suggestions...Now he has narrowed down his choice to HH Glamour and Bajaj xcd 125.....Which one will be better??I think Glamour's seat is not as soft as xcd's....How's splendor NXG?Is it better than splendor plus?

Why don't you consider honda shine ! fits in the bracket without any probs.

                0 worries 100% reliability.

BTW, how many kms and for how many hours does your brother intend to ride each day? Because long hours in the saddle means that a soft seat would not be that comfy. On the contrary a slightly stiffer seat is better in the long run. Atleast this is AFAIK. Experts please comment. Oh and even I feel the Shine is not bad.

IMHO soft seats feel plush for a few kilometers but soon your butt will literally start sinking into the seat making life uncomfortable for you. For example we have many Avenger owners complaining about sore butts whereas the Thunderbird crowd sing paens about the seat. So, firm seats rather than soft seats are the way to go if you are a tourer. Also, there are plenty of upholsterers/seat makers all over India who can make the seat firm/soft as per one's liking.

                      Honda_rider,

If your friend wants resale value, the Hondas/Hero Hondas are the way to go. The Bajaj falls short of this aspect. But the XCD is a decent package for all the features it manages to come with. But, on the long term, the questionable quality levels of Bajaj and poor resale value are the deterrents. I hope XCD owners here could come along and share their experiences.

All in all, I would say Splendor NXG. Really liked the fit&finish. Best resale comes as an added bonus too!

the shine is excellent, but one place where it falls short for some one who will travel long distances is a fifth gear! That is found only on the Gladiator and Zeus( as Stunner is not comfy for him).
I would still suggest you to stretch a little and go for the Uni/Achiever.

i saw a splendor nxg in a parking lot today. tried the seating. good. may be better than glamour but i dunno if it slides the rider when brakes are applied (like splendour & passion). also, except for the rear light this bike is better than the splendour & passion plusses.

ur bro may want checkout the glamour & splendour nxg back to back once and then decide.

also, soft seats warm up the butt in 20-30 mins.

                              Not even considering the gladiator
Maybe Yamaha does not have the commuterish image....
                              maybe Yamaha is for bikers

Think of resale value and well.....

No wonder Yamaha sells in India.......
