Gixxer is faster to 100 by good 2-3 seconds which means it cruise smoothly around 90kmph with enough juice to overtake. Fz is good for low and mid range only whereas gixxer feels much better than fz after crossing 85kmph mark. Only prob with gixxer is it looks a bit small than fz and its pillion seat is slightly less spacious.

He is asking mainly about the pillion comfort for his mom and spouse and you are detailing him 0 to 100 and all day 90 kmph cruising .

        Re: FZ-S Fi or Trigger

Better go with gixxer than fz because gixxer has a saree guard and a simple modification will help it for a foot recess in the saree guard. Fz on the otherhand doest have a saree guard and I don't see a place to modify and attach it to the bike( it does have a huge tyre hugger which acts as a saree guard ) but no place to keep the foot and you can't even modify a foot recess and attach it in fz cause no place to attach it. Only way is to weld it into the rear foot rest . see ur self

Personal opinion :take the new FZ its from the heart 😉
Bro if I'm not wrong, the fz v2 is a fully new bike, because a> crank angle changed for less friction, b> new chassis is 3kg lighter, so a new engine and chassis makes it a new bike, so its as new as a gixxer and both have to prove that they are good . Do enlighten me if I'm wrong

Hi Vinodh, Not sure if I have read it correctly, But what will be your budget likely. FZ v2 will cost you close to 92+k OTR. This is from the Sri Motors showroom near Kasi Theatre. Gixxer OTR will cost you around 82+k . This is from SMK Suzuki in Porur buddy,

IMO, FZ V2 is a better buy, since Gixxer is a newbie on the block, not sure on the A.S.S of gixxer (anyone who owns a gixxer can throw some light). Yamaha is known in FZ for its reliability and performance. But mileage is definitely a hit compared to Gixxer. FZ will return you anywhere between 40-42 kmpl (ridden under 70 occasional blast is fine). Pillion comfy is ok.

Gixxer should return you 48+ kmpl (afaik heard from my friends).

I think the FZ V2.0 gives anything around 47-48 due to the FI system. Owners may opine.

Pillion comfort is equal in both bikes. I explained performance figures to him because he clearly mentioned that his shine use to struggle after 70. That is why I was feeling like he is interested in performance and cruising speed also...

Thanks TheArcher, your comment was really useful. Do you know the OTR of 200 NS? How is the pillion comfort and reliability and maintenance cost of 200NS.

My friend owns an fz 2.0 and has informed me that the FE he gets is around38-42(he didn't do proper run-in and rode his bike harshly)

You might be referring to hero zmr price which uses Hondas tech.

IMHO dukes fuel pump cost around 3k(I think Bosch) and my old gen pulsar cost less than 5k(Delphi).
Not sure what Yamaha is using .

FZS FI will return at minimum 40kmpl in the city and 45 kmpl on the highway (personal experience). Some users are even reporting nearer to 50kmpl on highway. And I can personally vouch for FZS comfort over NS. NS is a nightmare for long distance pillion riders.

I have a Question Why the FZS FI with Blue Core technology
offers 40-45 kmpl where as old apache & pulsar offers a much better mileage ,even Gixxer without a FI gives 45-50 kmpl.
