Approved!

What're your requirements? Your choices fall across various segments.
FYI - Inazuma's production is stopped!

Re: Want to buy a new bike (250+ cc)

I know Inazuma's production has stopped. This is the only reason I am going for a bike now. I just want to be an option. Even though I loved the bike I just want to be sure that I am buying the right bike, as I won't be able to change it.

The things that I am looking for is
1. Touring capability with high comfort
2. Parts quality
3. Decent mileage, least important

I get 2 bikes that fit these requirements
1. Inazuma
2. CBR250

But at the same time the KTM has massive power, whicb is fun to ride.

I want to do some 2000km trips.
So is the KTM really wort it? Or should I just stick with the Inazuma or CBR?

Just for this part:
Get the CBR. Inazuma is out of production. So you may need to wait for quite a while at times. CBR 250 has had a decent run so expect better availability of parts. Honda ASCs are a horror though!

I'm not saying that you cannot do 2k kms on a KTM. Just that it was not designed for the same. If people can do K2K on an M80, then anything can be done.

R3. A Yamaha is worth the wait. Anyway.

I don't think that you have rode the Inazuma or the CBR. I need the bike for touring. And the Suzuki and the Honda due it with relative ease as compared to R3 or R25.

Also if you look at the power curve of the Yamaha bike the hit max torque and HP at 10000rpm. Which is not what I would prefer.

Inazma if you can afford it. And find it.

R3, it doesn't look like a bad tourer, quite frankly.

As for power curves and all that, well one shouldn't be looking at those while buying a bike to ride in this Country or even the cc class we speak of.

Re: Want to buy a new bike (250+ cc)

I can see that your price bracket ranges from a minimum of 1.7 lacs (CBR250 STD) to almost 4 lacs(GT250). So below are my opinions and suggestions.

CBR250 : I own a CBR250 since Aug 2012 and have ridden it almost 30,000 kms. Lovely bike, good fe. Low maintainance, good low end torque which makes it good for city rides as well. But but but...if you are finalising CBR250, go for the ABS version, worth the extra dough.

Duke390 : my friends own it, lovely power, can do high speeds easily but you are not going to ride at 150kmph all day. Metzeler tyres and ABS makes it vfm. But as you rightly found out, quality is crap, Metzelers would cost you around 16k when you change and fuel tank capacity is small for touring, which means you will have to take frequent fuel stops and carry extra fuel in case you somewhere remote where you don't gave fuel stations for long distance.

RC390/Continental GT/ Hyosung GT250 - aggressive riding posture, would create back issues on long rides.

My suggestion is , if you have budget of 4lacs, check out the N300.

Pros : Kawasaki fit and finish, twin cylinder, can cruise at over 120 kmph all day long, 39 bhp which will satisfy your need for speed.

Cons : fe is around 25-28 kmpl, parts are expensive but then you get good quality which will last long, maintainance is almost same as CBR250 ( CBR250 service will cost you 2k every 6000 kms, N300 service will cist you around 4k every 10000 kms).

Now the ball is in your court. If I had a budget of 4lacs, wud have picked N300 blindly.

Also you can wait for R25 but I guess it won't be launched here before next year.

Since Suzuki is withdrawing Inazuma, you might face issues with servicing and spares.

The Inazuma is available at some showrooms here and I am willing and able to get the parts from abroad as it was a global release. Also it was not made 'for' India so I can be sure that we are not being treated to the double standard that Honda treats us with. Can't say about Kawasaki though cause I don't know.

The Yamaha's riding position is not good for touring.

By power curves I mean that the Yamaha reaches its peak power at a very high rpm which is not good for touring. It will put stress on the engine and not good if comfort is concerned. You can say that the engine is designed for it but i want to avoid that.

I prefer the Inazuma is because of comfort. You need to test ride it to find out.

If you have already decided on Inazuma there is no point we giving you any more options. Sid85 has already given you the reasoning, Getting the parts from outside will take time and money, and if you are willing to spend that much, then why not Ninja?
Plus R3/R25 is not that much pain in the back as compared to R15 V2.

Like prateek2210 said, if you've decided on the Inazuma, then well and good.

The R3, I don't think you've ridden it so you shouldn't really conclude upon its riding posture.

As far as stress on the engine goes, I ride a R15. At a constant 100kmph, the engine showed no signs of fatigue. The R3, in theory should do 150kmph with ease (the top end is 193). But honestly, 120 is the best one tour around on our roads.
So the whole stress on the engine factor is pretty silly to even consider with respect to touring.

As mentioned above, if Inazuma has stolen your heart, go for it. But then think over all the possible issues you have to face.

No dissuading him from his choice (Le Inazuma). But acquiring spares could be one hell of a wait. A fact that needs to be considered very seriously.
