I started learning to ride a bike on a hero splendor. After 6 months I bought my first bike and that was a duke 390. Have confidence buddy. P200 ns won't be a problem at all. There is one golden rule while riding any bike and that is you have to be careful. Rest assured u'll get used to the bike within a couple of days. 200ns is perfectly ok to be a first bike for you.

Re: Gixxer, Pulsar 135LS,FZ v2 or 200NS.. First bike?

You have narrowed on two very good choices.
Gixxer is better in fit, refinement and exclusiveness. The initial reviews are good.
P200NS is the best VFM bike in India today. IMO, this is the best Pulsar till date and have managed to eradicate engine and gearbox issues typical to Pulsars to some extent.
Both of them belong to slightly different category. The Gixxer needs to be run more sedately, at 90-100 kmph on the highways and is having a more relaxed and smoother ride. The NS, on the other hand, can do speeds of ~ 110 kmph comfortably. Has a relatively high saddle height. Pure power.
BTW, any reasons behind you not considering the Karizma R which can be the merger of both Gixxer and NS? If you don't like the look then it's a different story. But, it's a good buy.
And the FZ 2.0 is priced on the higher side due to the FI system. But, this is a very good machine to own. Speaking of Yamaha quality, look at 20-25 year old models of the RX or RD families still roaring proudly on the streets, you will realize.
Take your time. Chose wisely. A bike is not only a style statement. A bike is your alter-ego. Sometimes choosing even a wrong tyre or a malfunctioning brake can cut your life short(on a road, the difference between life and death is a few millimeters).
        Best of luck!
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

Re: Gixxer, Pulsar 135LS,FZ v2 or 200NS.. First bike?

Thank you Krishna77 for the reply. I did consider the karizma R, test rode it as well. The bike feels great to ride and would make a great bike but the looks are off putting, especially the rear (I was a fan of the last Karizma/CBZ integrated tail )

Hence, 200NS or Gixxer it is. FZv2 might be a good bike but I think Gixxer is a better bike overall as the reviews and ownership reports tend to point at.

I fel you should try out Gixxer and FZSv2 and then decide. I dont prefer 200NS just because its from bajaj. It might be low on maintaince but when it comes to riding its not a good bike. You will start to hear all kind of noise from chain engine etc in few months of purchase.

Ok, more confusion. Bajaj Pulsar 150 NS Images and Stunt Show - Gallery

Looks like 150NS is going to be here very soon. Once it hits the road 200NS 's look won't be exclusive at all. Earlier it was Gixxer vs 200NS. Now150NS comes it might be better than Gixxer(??) and it will take away the exclusive look of 200NS. Both my shortlisted bikes have taken a hit

If exclusivity is your thing, and so is waiting, wait for the Gixxer faired.

                    Still havent bought any bike.

Gixxer SF released day before. Looks good but is priced 10k more than the Gixxer. Is it worth the price tag of 1L?

On the other hand NS is at 1.08L. Evrything is better on it except the FE and no fairing.

Also I think you cant fit a leg guard on SF. isnt that a big safety issue??

I dont mind naked or faired

                    BTW Finally xbhp is back

I personally fee paying 10k more doesn't make any sense unless for you looks are most important. Any way why don't you wait for 200AS. I think its launch is within a week.

But wouldnt AS200 surpass his budget ? As its expected to be priced somewhere between NS and RS.

My bad! I ignored the most important aspect of buying a motorcycle. Still AS 200 could lure him to extend his budget.

I myself have booked NS last Friday with a waiting period of about 10 days(paid a nominal amount) and yesterday got to know about AS 200 's launch on 14th April. This has put me in great dilema . Although i don't like faired bikes but I'm kinda confused now

Talk to showroom ppl & tell them you want to wait for AS 200. In my opinion it will be more VFM.
