  • Hyabusa or yamaha R1

Since these are the legal option of SBK in India at similar pricing (Ducati too expensive).

Primary consideration being maintainablity and usablity around NCR
which would be a more practical bike to own?

Personaly i dont like the looks of the Hyabusa although its consol is awsome.on the plus side Hyabusa might be more understanting to Indian pertol.

    Opinions please

    Topic Approved.

Do you plan to get one out of these two bikes, or are you just looking for general opinion? These two are different machines, primarily meant for different purposes, really. However, given the circumstances that these machines would be ridden in (perhaps weekend rides/ short early morning/ late night city spins, etc.), I would suggest you should go for the one you want and you like.

Because, frankly, at the end of the day, you or me won't really be able to make out the power difference between an R1 and the mighty Busa. That's guaranteed!

hence the confusion as pricing is similar 11-13 lac. giving our road and lack of a track, its a weekend ride. power and acceleration would appear to be similar in usage. (ideally i like a honda CBR 600/1000rr but thats not a option in our country)

      So considerations would be.

which can handel a pot hole better

which would it splutter and die up with IOC petrol (anti-knock sensors are not there in the R1) (speed 93 would work but get real u hardly get it)

which can you actual ride it around the real world of delhi without overheating the engine (not NH-8)

looking to buy one, but want to be safegurd my investment as that would be all the money i have.

Well, I am a little surprised to see this question. The factors that you have mentioned cannot act as the deciding ones. Both are top notch machines on this planet. If you are a tourer then I would say Busa else if you are planning to ride in the city mostly then go for R1. Although, these are not really a deciding factors but thats the best I can think right now.

I personally saw R1's Tank Sticker saying "95+ Octane Fuel only" ... but remember, even Hayabusa has a Compression Ratio of 12.5:1 ...

For both these bikes, I suppose Speed 97 is available in Delhi maybe ... <Can anyone confirm?>

Hayabusa is the best HyperBike, as Bike India says...

Remember, Hayabusa makes 20 bhp at rear wheel at 2200 rpm itself (full throttle). This is some useable power! In Comfort, Hayabusa is the way to go ... With that mid range torque, you can maintain 3rd gear driving in cities ...

Plus, the 3 power modes in 'Busa also help in City Conditions!

As for weight, it's 264 kgs for Busa, and around 210 kgs for the R1 ... including Oil & Fuel.

Obviously, I suggest Hayabusa for the "real Indian Roads"... Overall that is!

CBR 1000 RR is launched today. So is the CB 1000R

Guess you are not the one for tracks... then look at the Busa or the CB 1000R.

Of course, when you spend that kind of money, you have to count which one gives you more satisfaction of owning and pride factor too... that is upto you to decide.

Well, I came in to tell the first line and am speaking on... I'd better shut up and listen

The Busa requires 90 octane fuel which means you can fill the normal Speed, xtra premium or power, 91 octane fuel.

Guys....all these bikes are one heck of an investment. So give it the best fuel you can. DO NOT compromise on fuel.
I would pick the RR or the R1 over a Busa. The Busa is Gigantic....and comes no where close to the styling of an RR or an R1.
The Busa might be comfortable, but who cares about comfort when you dont intend to take it on long rides.
For city conditions....i suppose the RR makes more sense because of the availability of more torque at lower rpms.
I personally would pick the R1
                1. Because its a Yamaha
                1. Because its THE ONE
                1. Yam motors have a maniac hiding inside
                1. Dude...have you seen that thing in flesh.....its like Megan Fox on wheels...only much more hot...

The Busa is forgivable as far as fuel bills are concerned.. As for the R1 nothing less than the 97 Octane would be yummy!

Not sure about past models. But the 08 and 09 models require 90 octane. Speed or extra premium is enough.

I dont even understand the 20bhp part of it. I understand if you mention torque figures at such a low rpm but not bhp. What is that full throttle
