  • RS200 or 200NS

    Hi brothers,
I'm Kaustubh Bhide and I'm a Grad student. This thread is to choose between RS200 or 200NS.
As I'm a student VFM of NS matters much more to me and RS with single ABS is seems to be too costly (1,52,693 in mumbai). I'm not looking into base version of RS just for the extra plasic and FI (Fi din't increased the fuel efficienct though). Naked stylr appears me more than fairing. BUT, if you all suggest RS is VFM and must buy bike then I'll surely think upon it.
    Thank you.
    Regards.

    Pulsar 200NS vs Pulsar 200RS

I know its quite to early for this thread . But Bajaj's launch had confused me again . I'm 6.2 feet in height and weigh 65kg and will use bike mainly for City ride and Once in a month for short Highway rides. RS200 is a great bike though its whopping 165kg and will it be niggle free as its Bajaj's FI system.
About NS200 its a great bike and VFM.

@thread starter, you yourself have given answer to your query.
          Get 200ns.
Read motorbeam review of rs, it also Says that ns is the unbeatable vfm package in <250cc segment.

I think FI, ABS, THROATY EXHAUST NOTE, FAIRINGS, LEDs, ,DRLs ,BIGGER DISC BRAKE justifies the RS200's price tag.
Though I'll wait for some reviews for its Handling part.
And all how great the NS200 is in handling and RELIABLITY.

Don't go for Faired bikes if you prefer Naked. They are totally different categories all together. IMO you should have dilemma between NS & Duke.

Yes, if budget not an issue ,get duke.
But since you are a student sponsored on parents money ,I will advise 200ns.

Faired = Extra headache of removing fairing during services. Incorrect fitting = vibrations.

I hope quality of fairing is good enough.

                      Re: RS200 or 200NS

NS is anytime a great bike. Although I loved the RS200 looks n features, but considering you would save a whoping 50k, and you like Naked Bikes I'd suggest NS. Bajaj is still to roll out SS400 and CS400. Looking at the price of RS200, I think 400 would be priced below 2lacs. And so would the CS as well.. So RS200 buyers who have a flair for more power would certainly regret buying it.. Go for NS mate and a few years down the line u can upgrade to a more powerful full faired one once you are bored with this one...

I really love the way the way Bajaj hits the market with style. But I really doubt in the quality of the parts they make. . But that's good for this price range since no one is going to use until it brakes .

The answer is pretty straight forward, buy the one you can afford. Dont sell a kidney to buy an ABS equipped bike coz there are still costlier bikes that offer even better ABS system as well as lot of other safety features.

This time its bosch Fi system and not bajaj's inhouse developed one. So its better and more reliable.

Since you like a lot of things in RS, go for it otherwise you will be missing a lot of things in NS.

Dont expect a fully faired bike to handle like a naked bike. Due to the addition of fairing all faired bikes handle differently than naked bikes. So RS will not be as nimble as NS. However it handling as a fully faired bike should be satisfactory.

Zipping through small gaps in traffic wont be the forte of RS.

Yes the quality of fairing and also its support brackets is good enough, i have seen it.

Yes fairing means extra headache at the time of servicing coz of extra work involved in removing it, BUT that extra work is the job of the mechanic doing the servicing and not the owner.
So, if your mechance is not good enough to properly remove and refix the fairing then probably he is also not good enough to do other things like tappet adjustment etc...so that mechanic will anyway ruin your bike, be it RS or NS.
