  • Need your valuable inputs on selecting me the best bike!!

Hi Avid Bikers / Experts ,

I am a avid reader of XBHp forums regarding posts on the bikes.

I currently own a CB Twister and looking to upgrade
I have a very soft corner towards Avenger / newly launched Pulsar 150.. but am in dilemma to get 150CC or avy...

    Here are my expectations :

    Budget : 75-80K
    Daily Commuting : ~25-30 KMS
Weekend or planned rides are not that often , but if I am getting my new bike it should be well powered and handled enough to go anywhere.
Pillion seat rider must be comfortable , so that my dad or mom can also accompany in case of any emergencies

This time when I purchase my second bike , I am planning to keep it for long time and also for the long journeys I will be doing..

I have gone through the internet regarding the same but it made me confuse to go for which
I am in a very dicy mood to make the selection of the bikes , so request you to please pour in your valuable inputs regarding the selection.

PS : Its my first post in XBHP , so please excuse me if I have posted something abrupt..

    What bike query approved!

You may have to stretch the budget a little bit to accomodate Avenger.

Bro, if you are planning to keep this bike for a long time then go for avenger. It would definitely Fulfill your needs. I don't have Avenger but few of my friends have this bike. Apart from heating problems this bike is just a breeze on the road! Keep us posted with your decision! Peace[emoji111]️[emoji111]

Thanks Mod for the approval and suggestion.
Do you have any more suggestion other than avenger?

        Hi Bro,

Definitely post you about the decision?
Apart from Avenger can you suggest any other bike in 1500 CC range ? What about new pulsar 150 CC?

I still have soft corner for avenger but still enthusiast to know if I can get a good bike similar to that..

I would Suggest Yamaha SZ or TVS Phoenix 125 Disc. These are great Bikes for the Money. If you want something a bit more Powerful,Honda CB Unicorn 160,Apache RTR 160 and GiXXeR are excellent bikes. You gotta have more money for Avenger.

I don't have much of an idea where you guys live, but if an SZ costs 80k OTR, then it probably is a good idea to buy from elsewhere.

Gixxer is the bike you want to get bro. Ticks all your checkboxes. Just pillon seat is an issue. So GS150R is also an option. Really good engine. Just search some threads you will know. Else you can go for the pulsar 150 just take good care of it.

IF you are leaning towards Bajaj, get the Avenger. Worth the extra money you will shell out over your budget. Also, another thing is that I think as Bajaj has done previously, the Avenger might just get the new 200cc/15cc engines from the new 200NS and 150AS. I can't be too sure of this, but Bajaj always does this. The old 220 was a good one too.

Within your budget: my suggestion is to get the Unicorn 160. It's the most Amazing bike, but it is so comfortable and vibe free and refined - it's a boon. No head ache, body ache or heartache. You will love it. And Honda's reliability factor of the bike is very well known for.
Don't matter what it is: Touring; Racing; Commuting. All I know is, I belong on the saddle.

Bajaj is reportedly working on Avenger 200. If you wish to wait, you can but Avenger 220 will cost more than your budget.
As already mentioned, SZ-RR is a very good budget commuter. Engine is smooth. You'd love to hear the engine sound.
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

Bajaj Avenger has a really long waiting period (I have no idea why, but when my brother bought the new model 220 a couple of years back, the waiting period was a month).

You can consider a RTR160 (without back discs, it comes in at around 75k). As an owner of the RTR, I can say this bike is fun to ride! I have covered over 200kms to 250kms a day and I had no noticeable fatigue. For a tall rider though, cornering could be a bit of a problem, as you would have to crouch quite a bit if you wish to "kiss the mirror". Throttle response is great and the riding position is comfortable. Performance is great and once it reaches the powerband, there's no stopping it.

Also, the Suzuki GixXer is a good alternative, and in some departments better than RTR.

If u just manage some rs 15000 mote you can opt for suzuki gixxer. One of the best bike including all 150
