That is one area I would not comment. Color is totally upto your choice.
I always prefer black as it doesn't shout out attention and blends along just fine.
My current bike is White with red and blue accents, hey, who doesn't like to be noticed every now and then ;-P

Maintaining any black vehicle is a pain IMO. Scratches and dust are way too prominent.

To be frank, matte maybe hard to maintain too, but FZ looks lovely in matte green. Also, it heavily depends upon the rider on how he cares for his steed.
You love the color; go for it!

Also you can check out fazer. Same bike as FZ but has a quarter fairing. And maybe P220 and karizmas as well.

Frankly speaking...I dont listen to others on the color perspective (not even my wife choice is considered here). Its purely what you like, I can suggest black as I love black in most of the items I own. Its looks sooper sexy to me. But, the blue one is a eye-grabbing one.

So, go by your taste on the color front atleast. Any bike will be prone to scratches, no matter what you do(unless you want to wrap the whole thing with some protective layer from 3M or anyother product).

The one bike which your parents would readily agree and you may probably like too will be Unicorn 160.
Being a Honda it would give less trouble and give you long service and perfect for a beginner.

Brought FZ v2 on July 6 2015(it was my birthday that day) . Clocked 225Kms. It took me 2-3 days to get the sweet spot as I rode a bike after 2 years. No issue as for now except for the wrong fuel bar reading. If I keep my bike on side stand for 20-30minutes , fuel reading shows 1-2 bar and sometimes "E" starts blinking. Researched a lot and then found it is common in FZ and fazer too. Once I ride it for 100m it starts showing correct fuel bar.
Not in mood to remove the rear mud guard; It works amazingly well during rains and water logged roads.

                    Congrats on the new purchase,
regarding the fuel bar thingy, digital meters based on float type mechanism are like that only, there is a floating ball inside the tank which actually assists in giving an approximate reading of the fuel levels , and as the fuel inside shifts its direction it effects the level of the float thereby giving different readings for each level the bike is kept at.

Hope this clears the issue, it is there for all float based digital fuel gauges. It is nto specific to the FZ/Fazer series

Even manual needle type meters also use same mechanism in the tank. I'm wondering what SBK uses, that ball inside the tank?

If i were to guess i'd say yes, the same. It is digital being one point. Then from what i understand it is a much cheaper mechanism to implement, so should be the one being used.

                            You meant analog meters.
Current digital fuel-gauge displays 4-5-6 levels of fuel. If they increase it to say 12-15 bars then they might come close to analog meters. Theoretically analog has infinite levels but only about 50 perceivable levels.

Congrats on you purchase buddy. How does the fuel meter actually works...Is it like the one in our flush tank, where the ball level drops as the fuel dipps and start to show E on the meter...
