      i would suggest activa

my dad bought activa for me on 2005 !!!no problem till now !! best just regular servicing !!! smoothest engine in scooters !! no noise !!if honda would upgrade activa then it would be just body looks not engine !!!
there is just one problem while riding u have to use horn a lot !!! no noice yaar !! hehe

go for dio it is better looking than others
and the new activa also looks bad
if u like aviator go for it
        i am using dio
disadvatages:little bumpy, little discomfort for pillion, loose fibre parts(not much problem if roads are good)
working fine with the worst roads of our city

as i said brother, i am a complete novice in scooty segment. access 'looks' somewhat like activa right? and the review are good. but another thread mentions about the bumpy rides and how the rider got sore back.
and, 6 months back, my friend took his activa for a 400kms dash to kolar-antaraganga. he is now undergoing a treatment for his back. scary! so ride comfort is needed, possibly bigger tyres good suspension would help. what say?

waiting inputs from you too. lets possibly dig this out.

yup i too felt Dio looks the best of the lot. and so my first choice.
thanks for the comments. but it looks a bit contradictory:
loose fibre parts(not much problem if roads are good)
and, working fine with the worst roads of our city !
          which city are you from?

A telescopic front and a disc brake and a bigger front wheels gives more ride comfort than normal brakes and primitive suspension of Dio. No doubt dio is a good scooter, but there are better scooters too.

Shadaz, test ride both Dio and Aviator back to back. You will know the difference.

Regarding the back problems, most riders do not move joints after riding. If you move your joints with some little stretches, everything will be fine.

Yes! it is also my perception that the Access is a bit stiff and looks too old.

You better wait for the new activa and take a decision after that.

Regarding the back ache, My back aches even after a 25km intra city ride on the scooty pep and none of the scooters(activa/access) made any difference to the aceh.

But I never had any pain even after nK kms on comet/Thunderbird. So I feel all scooters ve a pain, but didnt try a dio still.

I mean with bad roads the fibre parts tend to become shaky but not much of a trouble

                  @ allll

jus wat i needed..... i wnted to buy a scooter for my family with its main key-holder to be my dad.. but occasionally it cud be my mom or sis...

as for options.... i felt the aviator is far more better in terms of comfort n handling.. although there is no betting on the smoothness of the honda.....

i still have a month plus to make my decisions n so im hijackin all the scooters in my areas n riding them.... be gettin close to a conclusion..... sooon .... hopefully

Suzuki Access & Mahindra Kinetic SYM Flyte are two scoots you shouldn't miss considering.

my intention was to dig out the best scoot for 'men' in currently available + new activa. as said, question came up when my friend (28yrs) needs a scoot for his bro (22yrs) and dad (55yrs). all 3 would use it!

i feel the look factor also plays a major part. if the bike doesnt look solid, the whole masculine concept shades away. and so i find flyte and access not much to the liking. my 2pnc...

had been to Honda showroom today. new activa will hit bangalore showrooms on 25th this month and in pune/mumbai maybe 20th itself. so just a week more or so to wait...

hope bunny gets a review for us coming month for new activa. and possibly a comparison!

had been to silicon honda. they said new activa will hit the stalls on 25th.
went to sapphire honda in JP nagar. they said 27th. (both bangalore)

                          Hey shadez,
I am in the same boat.. Can you please tell me if you made any progress with this?
I need to buy scooter by next monthend that can be used by my wife and me. I have preference towards honda. Have seen Dio and it is good looking. haven't seen new activa yet though.. have liked the idea of having bigger tyres in aviator..

Can you people help me out to pick up the right one..

^ nope. i have not tested the new activa fully yet.
but yes, one of my friend has bought it and he sure is happy (which he would be anyways!). well the scoot gives better mileage (now comes to 45-50 before 1st service), has better pickup, good styling (i liked it in real, though in the pictures it didnt look that great), slimmer and 7 kgs lesser than its predecessor.
but yeah, the ride-heights the same i guess.

all in all, must admit that its a good deal at first impression. but need to take it for a good spin to know more.

good luck and let us know what you buy too.
