    Appreciate your thoughts here please
No, The hunk also gives about 40-50kmpl. More mileage means a drop in the initial pickup. You will have to think about buying the Uni160.
You must note that SZ RR2 is a tubeless Ceat tyre. I am not so sure about the Hunk tyres, they are MRF tubed ones as far as I can recall, but the bike is more expensive than SZ. A recent June sales chart shows that SZRR2 sold more numbers than the Hunk.

    *My thoughts*
Not to tarnish the brand, but there was news that Pulsar RS200 alloy rims broke away leading to a crash. I always feel that people make a very wrong decision in buying something that his neighbour has got, or sells more numbers, looks good, is cheap and most importantly the fuel efficiency. Many fail to see the running costs, spares availability, comfort, build quality or the durability which is what must be the first buying criteria. Everything else comes later.

Thank you prajnyan, which one do you suggest? CB Uni 160 or SZ RR V2 ?
I am in total confusion in selecting one between them, each one has its own benefits.

Cost wise I think SZ RR V2 is better option while mileage wise Unicorn 160 looks good.
I have not received any responses from SZ RR V2 users of what mileage they are getting, any help appreciated please.

        Hi Uppulurivasu,

I own a Hero Hunk DDS double discs. The bike is the most comfortable one. And yes u are right the seat is longer and a little taller too..

The pickup and power is more compared to unicorn 150.. Have no idea about unicorn 160..haven't rode it so cant comment on it..

Pillion comfort is also good and is quiet decent bike.. Never got mileage above 46 kmpl.. It does drink fuel.. Its constant after my 3rd service.. Even if i gun my bike or ride it calmly.. 46 is max..

If confused between any models.. Test ride them.. Will be easier to decide..

I decided on the Fz first.. Booked karizma cancelled its booking when got to know a new version is going to come.. But at the end bought Hero hunk.. And i m happy with it..
        Cheers 🍻

I would defiantly choose the szrr because I have rode both on highway and feel that sz is more planted and fun to ride than uni160

Hello Friends, after test riding all the below bikes I have also added my comments to each one of them

            1) Honda Shine: Sitting position OK but old traditional analog cluster.
            2) Honda Unicorn CB 160: My wife didn't feel comfortable sitting side ways, rest everything is good but heard of poor mileage
            3) Bajaj Pulsar and Discover: Didn't like the wobbly sounds
            4) Yamaha SS125: Good vehicle but spares is a pain to get
            5) Yamaha SZ RR: Poor service in Bangalore, no dealer has good reviews. Clear no from my wife due to its pillion seating
            6) Hero Glamour: Pathetic pickup
            7) Hero Xtreme and Sports: Pillion seat not meant for side sitting
            8) Hero Passion X-Pro: Liked the vehicle but needed more power
            9) TVS Apache: Seating wasn't comfortable
            10) TVS Phoenix 125: Is the one that I linked the most, good features include digital cluster, pass switch, dipper, find me lamps, LED bulbs in headlight

Though company gives 68 KMPL, user feedback on mileage is 60 KMPL and I liked its new looks. Anyhow TVS is known to be good for its engines.
Have not really seen the tires that come with the vehicle but felt comfortable to drive with my wife in the pillion seat.

Thanks to all the xbhp folks who have supported me by giving their valuable feedback.

I am surprised that you were misinformed. Yamaha has no issues with availability of spares. I service my bike at Bangalore Wheels, Rajajinagar and it is one of the top best SVC of Yamaha in India. I appreciate that you did decide on sticking with Phoenix, another good commuter but it's disadvantage being a 4 speed gear box. I also heard news that Yamaha has stopped few models which includes the SZ-R and SS125.

Looks like TVS Phoenix 125 with Front Disc is the Bike for you.I would not recommend Bajaj Bikes. You are misinformed about Yamaha's Spares. There is a reason why Bikes as old like the RX 100 are still getting Restored and ridden without Fear - Availability of Spares.Yamaha has Good build Quality and Availability of Spares is also great on Yamahas. The TVS Tyres of Phoenix are the WORST.You HAVE to change it ASA your Warranty and Run-in Period is Over.Go for the Phoenix 125 with Disc.

Re: Looking for a Premium Commuter Bike, 125 CC or 150 CC ?

I finally bought TVS Phoenix 125 (2015) disc and completed 420 KMS and I do not see any issue in handling or comfort. I like the way the vehicle throttles in traffic. Regarding the tyres, I'm not sure what is the issue you are mentioning but for my daily commute where I take around 65 degree curves I do not see an issue.

I have driven the same on wet roads too and did not see any issue, if you are saying about traveling at high speeds on wet roads then I do not have such a need.

Regarding Yamaha support, agree with you on robust build quality but I stay near KR Puram and none of the service centers have a good reputation. Just like Toyota cars it looks like folks who need Yamaha go for it but kindly note that after sale support is clearly needed which I found is not good around KR Puram/Whitefield/Indiranagar for Yamaha.

One thing I can point as a drawback in Phoenix 125 (2015) is you clearly see the lack of 5th gear once you hit 55-60 kms.

                  Cheers
