ZMR has it outside the tank. Yes, you can't run it dry like carb bikes but then it would be highly irresponsible of a rider to reach zero fuel on any kind of a bike. Why would you do that anyway?Originally posted by HyperRetard View Post

Well, we don't run it dry everytime, but there has been instances where certain 'planned' fuel stops don't pan out because of many reasons, like the pump running out of fuel just before a price hike and my least favorite one, not accepting a credit card! In my recent trip to Kerala, I had a real bad time cos of this, not one petrol pump accepted cards of any kind.
I really cant talk much about adulterated fuel though, as I've not been exposed much to that side of the coin yet. Usually fill up at a Bharat pump, where we've been filling up for the past 26 years...

for every thing we have pros and cons. yes carb is easy to fix and maintain but also an extra effort with changing elevation and riding conditions.
with Fi you get crisp and linear throttle response and at-least 5-6 years of no nonsense service.
adequate fueling as per the usage.
What is you have a fuel pump strike?
And yes, Fi is less hassle, but when things go wrong, they are huge hassle.
Reminds me of an incident where my acquaintance wanted to buy a truck. Budget was not an issue. Told him to buy a MAN or a Volvo. He rejected outright saying that if something goes wrong, where will he repair it. Bought a Tata Prima instead, which is almost as high tech, but well, that is perception. A roadside mechanic wouldn't be scared to open a Tata Prima, but he would not open a Volvo.

That's why I always carry cash! Most of my rides are through State Highways and cards aren't accepted. Well, most strikes are announced in advance. It can be mitigated, but yes I agree it cannot be avoided 100%.Originally posted by HyperRetard View PostWhat is you have a fuel pump strike?Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Which bike for 1lakh?
Dude, the case is not the same here in Chennai. I work in the night shift, and generally tank up on my way back from work. There's been loads of times where the fuel pump attendants refuse to fill in even 1L because both of us know that there's going to be a price hike the next day. It doesnt make news in advance, comes more like a heart attack. Literally!
I do carry cash too, but would prefer using a card, since we're only limited to 4 ATM transactions a month now. But if there's no other way, cash it is.

Re: Which bike for 1lakh?
Anything below Pulsar 220F and another Karizhma ZMR will be a Downgrade for you.I would suggest the GiXXeR SF if you can live with the lower Power. If you want something from Hero,Get the Karizma ZMR or wait for the HX250R which is launching soon. You also have the Apache RTR 180 ABS from the TVS Stable, which is slightly cheaper to purchase and live with (Maintainence). But you will suffer on touring because of the Race-Dedicated Seating Posture. If you get the RTR,Don't forget to change that Stupid Tyres though to something Lightyears better like MRF Zapper VYDE[My Motorcycle]

Re: Pulsar RS 200 vs Suzuki Gixxer SF vs Pulsar AS 200.. which one is good tourer...?
Thanks for all your suggestions... I finally bought Gixxer SF... and i would say that till something good comes in the market... i can live with the low powered Gixxer... let me tell you... except for power... everything else in the bike can be compared with any 200-250cc bikes available in the country... its that good... excellent handling... Grippy tyres... and butter smooth engine are the main characteristics of this beauty... even if suzuki puts 250cc engine in the same chassis of this bike... it would work wonders...
Eagerly waiting for Gixxer 250 which is rumoured to be launch in late 2016...
Thanks folks...
