Yeah, I agree that I've presented my case after doing the initial research based on my requirements but the whole point of coming to this forum was to weigh the pros and cons of my decision and to get a second thought ... didn't know about the shortage of server space

Also I've never driven the GS150R so not sure about its power and whether it can go above 100 as easily as a Uni or RTR can

Then take the test ride. Also you can contact GS150R owners in the Ownership Thread and take their opinion.

          Finance

One more thing friends.. I'm new to b'lore and don't have any relatives here .. the showroom guys require you to pay up the full amount in cash (which I don't have ) or they want a local blood relative present in the city to finance the bike to me .. not sure what to do .. please help ..

And about the bike .. I keep looking at the bikes zipping across while sitting in the volvo () and found that lot of people have laid there trust in RTR (despite the vibes) and karizma .. so having second thoughts about my decision .. I can forget the requirement of a single lever gear shifter (I guess you get used to it ) and mileage (starting to earn well ) .. so please help as I guess it'll take me another week to arrange everything to get the bike (somehow )

I definitely want it to go above 80 quickly (and easily ) and don't want maintenance hassles .. I'm 6' 0'' ..average built .. with a penchant for street racing

Amigo......if you had completely read my thread for GSR you would have made the decisions.......when I was on this bike hunt even my prime requirement was pure ride pleasure, smoothness and least vibrations and GSR not only passes but excels in this area......few experts from a post I made in that thread....

ok Guys before I say anything let me tell you today for the first time I crossed over 70 on my bike and I have to sa just one word .......AWSOME.....fuc*n AESOME.......this bike is a pleasure......it cruzes man....just simply cruzes at 80-85...... impeccable smoothness absolute eloquence...........when I crossed 70 I felt the usuall "mmmmmm"(as I was driving at meak 60-65 the entire 15 days ) and I was fearing that mmmmm would increase to vibrations at high speed ....but but but to my pleasure the mmmm practically vanished at 80 and at 85 it was zipping like ice skate board.......no vibrations at all.........by no I do not mean 0 (practically not possible) but far far less than ANY current bike on indian road............... ok I speeded more and easily reached 90......and still no change in engine sound or any sign of engine fatigue or harshness.......bit more throttle and we have 95 on board.......what next.....sorry guys was crossing 7000 rpm and that was the limit till my second service.... .....I guess I have to wait for that 3 figure mark......but any way found the sweet spot of my bike 85 kmph which is in no means slow..... but still the bike glides effortlessly at this mark........today was a driving pleasure for me.........I seriously recomend this bike for the ones who look for shear ride smoothness and comfort specially at high speeds

I also liked this bike(GS) except the weight and the rubber cover over the front shocks which looks somewhat outdated though very handy in protecting from the dust. So for me, it's just weight which went against the bike which makes it lesser flickable as compared to RTR FI or FZ in heavy traffic of Bangalore. Though Unicorn is also heavy but it felt on the lighter side, may be because I had the Unicorn test ride without pillion and with GS with a pillion.

^^ well depends.....I did not feel the weight at all and was easily zip zapping the traffic when I test rode the bike......its only at the fourms I came to know its the heaviest.....personally I am not finding any problem in zip zapping......but yes in neck to neck comparision FZ or RTR are more easy going in traffic.........
for me utter smootheness, and immaculate engine refinement specially at high speeds is some thing I just love in this bike which BTW was my prime reason to buy as well. Incedently it also gives very good milage and is all techno equiped as well......so I think GSR is a pretty good deal if we take it as a complete package.........

                      Riding Position

@sam9s : One more thing I like about the Uni is its riding position in which you can sit upright whereas in some bikes you have to lean forward to drive which looks good but is not comfortable for long rides .. the same reason why people drive cruiser bikes on which they can sit comfortable and just cruise through .. how do you feel abt the riding position of GS ?

^^ riding positin for GSR was too stright man.....absolute upright for me...... I am not in a favour of driving lean but this was too stright, I prefer atleast a mild lean,,,,,but that was not a problem, I got the handle bar readjusted and got the right positon I wanted........its pretty comfortable now

BTW :: When and what bike have you finally decided????

                          Confused

The choice keeps on changing .. not sure whether to go for trusted brands with proven records like Karizma, RTR-FI or the newcomer with potential like GS .. all of them have their strong points

I asked the same question in Suzuki (first test road) thread...... if you ask me Suzuki as a brand is trustworthy, service is good as well, yes service centers may be less (thankfully I have one pretty near to my house) but that should not be much of a problem as there is not a huge back lock of bike at suzuki service centers......so you just have to spent one sat/sun to get things done.......

                              @thread topic

I guess a better comparison would be Uni/GS/FZ, as they are able commuters. RTR FI is totally different bike from this lot.
