  • Fz 16 or P200

Hey guys .. m plannig to buy a bike till the end of april..
i have been able to save 75k uptill now.. (on my own)
and wanted to invest it ..
coming to the point.. the options which i have in my mind are fz16 and p200

I am more leaning to buy a Fz over the present P200 but obvious beacuse of its exceptional looks. What concerns me are the various figures of its mileage ..although some those like 55+ claimed on this site seems to be superficial but since are from the senior members.. it gives joy to hear.. but on the other hand few figures of below 30 concerns me alot..
My usage would be basically city but 450+km in a week..atleast for fewof the months ..say till july..!
Second thing is what is the top speed i can achieve from it ? and what mileage would it give if i cruise in b/w 80-100km/hr for constant 150+ km ??
Thirdly.. As i said i m new to the bike world.. i dont know much about them.. so aftersales service is better for which company ??
I have to use this bike atleast for 4 years untill i get done with my graduation..
I would be pleased if Anyone can help me ..and justify the p200 or Fz (whichever would be better according to the above norms)..
    Thank U..

    Sheer Looks - Yamaha FZ16
    Sheer Power - Pulsar 200

Decide on your primary usage and requirements, and get the one you need! If you are looking for a tourer, get the P200 eyes closed. Looking for a city tool cum a tourer? Get the FZ!

As for the mileage, superficial or not, I have been constantly getting a mileage of 50+ kms. to every single litre of petrol from my Pulsar 200. Just did a 750kms. round trip past weekend, and she returned 44km/ litre, on speeds varying between 65 and 125km/hr.!

Ultimately it boils down to what you are really looking for. Take your pick!

it will return you around 40+ kmpl,
and P-200 Fi no idea about that,
But I suggest you a P-200 if you want better comfort and power,
long rides on FZ is a pain, and Pillion Seat makes the condition worse,
but I must say FZ is a perfect City Commuter with Limited Highway abilities,
less top end power, but GReat mid range torque and power makes it Best,
Super Grip on road, even a first time rider can easily take corners with confident, Tubeless Tyres are like Icing on cake,
but No stock Crash guard makes it unsecure in accidents, but not in my personel experience ;http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/universa...tml#post167216
saree guard without Footrest is a problem for pillion in long rides,
some ppl are complaining about Low average but i am getting 50+ from the date of purchase,
But apart from all Bike is an Ultimate Showstopper with superb handling, and feature packed ,
        Go for it.....

I don't know much about these bikes, but I can surely say the following:
          1. Looks-FZ
          2. Performance-P200
          3. Reliability-FZ (I prefer Yamaha)
          4. City-FZ
          5. Touring-P200
          6. Mileage more or less similar in city, no idea about highway!

On another note, I liked the Eliminator oops Avenger a lot in the same price range!
          Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Yep, even I can count at least 4 of my friends who own P200's and each of them say that the mileage that they get is about 45 kmpl..!!

Here is what I have to say:

FZ16: Fresh new looks; Looks Brutish but actually rides like a gentleman.

P200: Familiar Pulsar family looks but according to me one of the Most Handsome looking bike, Looks like an elegant gentleman but actually rides like a Hooligan.

FZ16 more at home in the city, P200 can initially be a bit handful in tight city traffic (later one gets used to the long wheelbase).. Reliabilty questions on Bajaj bikes according to me is more of a hyped up issue.

If possible, wait for the rumored P180/200 upgrades I'd say.

go for FZ beacause your requirements ,shows that you want more mileage. p200 will give usually 35-40 kmpl(on my friends bike) donno about FZ . But as i have heard from other member's of this forum saying that they are getting more than 45+ kmpl mileage on their FZ..

                man!
                I'd say go for the P 200
                1. Its faster
                2. It has a bigger tank capacity(for touring)
                3. IT HAS A METAL TANK not some plastic one!
a friend i know had an accident recently,
an auto rikshaw hit his standing bile
the entire tank dome got bust like some coconut
and the squarish inside tank went off flying
also, the 200 has stuff like oil cooling

I guess for City Riding Fz16 is the best.......... however 200 has its own feel, for long rides 200 is the best....... and I guess if you could wait for sometime because I believe 200 is coming up with some Xtra BHP, front fork of 220 and rear disc break....... It’s your choice because everyone has there on views..... the machine which makes you more comfortable go for it........ and I can bet both the bikes will not give you average more then 40kmpl

If you want to feel power then I guess 200 will the best......... and FZ is not comfortable for pillion rider....... I have ridden both bikes.... I feel nothing like FZ16 in 150 segment and there is no comparison for 200 it is the best....... Don't want to confuse you anymore..... make you own decision.

wel according to me, fz iz not a copetitor to p200.....

                      p200 iz a mosnteros beast....

FZ ,watevr it is, stil a 150cc...

so if practicality iz taken into picture.... p200 iz by far a much better option...

bt dan FZ iz a yamaha...

I would also say for City - Definately FZ16. I think the best looking bike
For touring or a bit more performance oriented drives P200.

i own both ride both but i never feel secure on my bajaj seriously if u miss to lower gear the rear tire just slips u end up havin a unhappy GF ba not such case wit Yamy

i find the yamy more reliable ofcourse the power difference n hieght is huge i enjoy ridin ma bajaj but i my gal likes the yamy n yeah i feel secure ridin the yamy rather then the bajaj as its just brutal n at times difficult to handle if ur sum1 who has alway ride 150cc go for the yamy u wont b dissapointed
