A Tourer would be something like a Kawa Versys 1000 or KTM Adventure 1190. For touring you need to have the absolute best seating comfort and riding posture. Cruisers give you neither.

Also RE is a cruiser not a tourer. Mojo is a Standard bike (aka Naked, aka Roadster)

As for Tourers not to mention the Honda Goldwing, In Harleys you have the CVO Limited (specific) and Road King/Street Slide
Mojo is standard???No way.Mahindra itself marketed as Tourer.Infact it is a tourer my frined.

RE is a tourer but definately not the best tourer.

HD is not a tourer.I disagree with it.Isnt the Road king a touring bike?Yes some by HD are cruisers but not all.

However the point was someone wanted to know if Duke is a tourer bike. And under no circumstances its a tourer.

    In simple words

Cruiser Motorcycle- A cruiser is a motorcycle in the style of American machines from the 1930s to the early 1960s,The riding position usually places the feet forward and the hands up, with the spine erect or leaning back slightly.

Tourer Motorcycle - A touring motorcycle is a type ofmotorcycle designed for touring. Although any motorcycle can be used for this purpose, manufacturers have developed specific models designed to address the particular needs of these riders.Touring motorcycles commonly have large displacement fairings and windshields that offer a high degree of weather and wind protection, large-capacity fuel tanks for long ranges between fill-ups, engines with a great deal of low-end horsepower, and a more relaxed, upright seating position than sport bikes.

RE is a tourer but definately not the best tourer. RE is a Cruiser not a Tourer, at this point you are simply looking at your own convenience, by that logic I will say D390 and CBR 250R are tourers as well

HD is not a tourer.I disagree with it.Isnt the Road king a touring bike?Yes some by HD are cruisers but not all. HD has only 3 bikes that are tourers

However the point was someone wanted to know if Duke is a tourer bike. And under no circumstances its a tourer. This is completely subjective. Just because you dont use it for touring doesnt mean its not a tourer

          Re: Duke 200 or Rc200

Any bike can be used for touring if the rider wishes it to, i personally know a guy who covered some 1500Km on a splendor with a pillion, whether it was built for that purpose is another story but if a bike isn't built like a tourer doesn't necessarily mean it can't be used as one.

It seems you are not understanding what I am trying to do here. I agree with you but at the same time I am correcting you as well.

Your categorization of RE and Mojo are Wrong. RE is a cruiser not a tourer. Mojo is a Roadster not a tourer irrespective of what Mahindra has marketed it for. Majority of Harleys are cruisers not Tourers. Theres only 2-3 models they have that are Tourers.

Also like I said everything in the biking world is subjective. Just because a bike wasnt designed to do something doesnt mean the owner of the bike will not use it for that something. Like you said, if an Owner of R1 decides to ride his R1 as a Commuter then he will ride it as one. Who are you to stop him from doing so?

But anyways, we have derailed the thread enough, lets not discuss it further.

Just as you mentioned everyone's subjective about it so am I.
If I think it's not a tourer than its not.for me a tourer bike is different.let's stop this discussion here sir as it going way out of topic
