• Used bike below 30k buying advice

Hi xbhpians,
I am a college student and planning to buy a used 150cc bike with budget of 30k.
I need your advice in finalising bike to buy.being a college student I am more attracted towards yamaha fz,my concern is will I get a decent condition fz in my budget.
My other choice is apache and I recently came across a well maintained apache 160 of 2011 model run 40000kms for 30k.please advice me is this right price or not.

Not discouraging the TS here, but in 30K a well maintained 150cc is not possible, even 125cc will cost a bit more if they are maintained nicely.

You need to check on olx and quickr and while finalizing the bike/scooty go through the link which The Monk has provided.

Personally speaking you will need to extend the budget a bit more to get near 125cc and you need to have around 50k to go near premium 150cc.

Cheers,
Sanjay

At 30k you can only get a 100cc that too one which has run more than 25,000kms on the odo. Stick to Passion+ or Splendor if you want a 100cc. A decently maintained FZ which has run 40,000kms on the odo should cost you around 40-45k atleast. Plus FZ's mileage is around 35-40kmpl. Do consider that. The Apache you are talking about sounds OK in terms of pricing. But do remember that a bike with lesser kms on odo is less likely to ask for parts replacement. A bike run for 40,000 on odo might need a new battery. clutch plates, brake pads, new cables etc. Do factor that into your budget.

Whenever you are buying a new bike, add an additional 3-4K only for the bike. And add to that the cost of name transfer. Please clarify these things from the seller first to get a fair idea about what is going to be the actual cost of your bike.
An used FZ in good condition should cost around ~ 50K. As others have suggested already, you need to extend your budget to get a good condition 150cc. Look for a 110-125 cc bike instead. You'll be able to save a good amount of money on fuel as well.
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.
