Re: Hero Glamour ... reliable bike????
It costs about 8k lesser. That's atleast 7000+kms worth fuel money. Trust me I would too suggest the FI version had it not been so costly. Perhaps the throttle response is better but the FI model is only marginally more fuel efficient. FI makes more sense for bigger displacement bikes. Plus FI model spares (though only a few) will also be on the higher side. Doesn't make sense for a person who needs a bike purely for commuting. On other hand nutheads like me will go for FI version :POriginally posted by Divya Sharan View PostWhy so? Chances of FI failure is < 1%. Carb related issues happen every other day. Then you have mechs who love playing with carb settings, whereas FI systems adapt to the environment. You have mileage benefits in FI too. How is carb more VFM?Last edited by harishkumarko; 10-31-2015, 12:23 AM.Tour De Thekkady

Re: Hero Glamour ... reliable bike????
Hero glamour is a perfect commuter with good low end torque and fe. I would also suggest disc brake model it's a life saver. Honda shine is not a good option imo. Of course it will give you the Honda brand name, costly spares due to the same brand name. Go for glamour it worth the money you are spending.Last edited by Jith_in; 11-18-2015, 08:56 AM.Off the BOTTLE & On the THROTTLE

Re: Hero Glamour ... reliable bike????
Go for the carb and disc version....fi wont do any magic in this bike trust me!!! The crispier throttle response is of little relevence for a commuter bike since you will not get a better mileage, maybe equally good thats all. The money you will spent is not worth it...trust me....riding glamour for last 7 years and never had any problem with the bike. Only the tyres were changed once, and spark plug once and nothing else.. No major maintainace or replacement work required till date 85k on odo...the bike still runs like new and returns 60+ mileage on a regular basis in city rides only. No highway touring done so cant comment! The only proble the bike has now developed is a little misalignment of the front....so all in all its a bullet proof bike!!!! Go for it...make sure u get the disc version as safety comes first... One more tip for better fuel efficiency.. Make sure to use the oil in the carburator before garaging it for the day, specially in summer.... Just switch off the knob before reaching your home about 300m away to make sure the oil in carb is mostly used by the time you reach home and garage it for the day....all the best....
P.s. rode almost all 125cc bike but nothing is as good as glamour..IMO...
