    Re: Motorcycle for Rahul, please?

One advice if you are planning to go for KTM dukes. Both the bikes 200 & 390 are a bit powerful for a first bike. Many teens end up wrecking them cuz of the urge to twist the throttle without any control over the machine. It's the nature of the dukes. So beware that it's not everyone's cup of tea. 390 wont suit you for city commuting as well. 200 is a very good choice for ur demands. But Gixxer seems to be an apt choice for you.

Just gathet knowledge and Go with ur instincts. At the end of the day you are gonna live with it.

    Ride safe!

        Thanks for the reply!
I'm currently checking out the Gixxer. Also a couple of used bikes as per yours and others' recommendation - since I won't be staying here long.

Hello! Avenger - I'm really reluctant in going for because the traffic here is terrible - and I'm not confident that I can filter in a bike with such a long wheelbase. But I'm actively looking into Gixxer! Thanks a lot for the recommendation.

        Thanks!I really am considering it!

It depends really. If I end up going for something like a Duke, which I'm less tempted to, after reading all the comments, I would continue riding there - maybe even ship it abroad for use there. But if it is something local, I think I'd sell it off before moving. Either way, I think I'd like to ride abroad as well.

I'm a bit reluctant at trying out the Avenger series due to it's rather long wheelbase and the natural difficulty manipulating heavy traffic with such dimensions. Traffic is terrible here and I'm not confident I'll be able to filter well enough with it to not justify getting a car instead. :P
However, thanks for the recommendation, and I'll take into consideration what you've advised about proper riding gear.

Hi! What you're suggesting is a great idea! However, my parents were finally convinced to let me bug a motorcycle under the strict condition that it be new and safe to ride. I'm in the process of trying to convince them to let me get a pre-approved used motorcycle right now. Hopefully it all works out, else I'll be getting myself a Gixxer.
        Thanks!

        Hi! Thanks for your response!
Like I said it took years to convince my parents to let me buy a motorcycle and one of their conditions was that it be a new bike. I'm trying to convince them to change their mind, so hopefully they can see the light soon. Thank you for your feedback on the more higher end - powerful motorcycles. I'll definitely keep it in mind before purchase.
        Thanks.
Ok, I think that should be a good practical choice. Gixxer is currently the best looking 150 cc with fairly modern features and has decent performance and fuel economy also. It is not threateningly fast either and should allow you to learn..I think it is sensible choice that will not get you into trouble...KTM Duke 200 has a nature that literally begs you to push harder and harder till you red-line in every gear including 6th! That can cause trouble for new persons..

            Re: Motorcycle for Rahul, please?

Hi all! Thank you so much for all of your suggestions. I have gone and taken a test ride of the Gixxer and FZ. I seemed to find the FZ more comfortable than the Gixxer, and also found the finish to be slightly better. So I went ahead and booked it. Something about it made me feel at ease while riding it, so I didn't look any further.

Once again, thanks a lot, all!
