Hello guys, took delivery of the bike on a friday from the company store in HYD about 3 weeks ago. I didn't go much about PDI apart from checking from scratches, unusual ODO reading, checking all switches, oil levels, Test ride, and asking the delivery guy to open up and show me all the removable parts like the seats, tool box, battery compartment, etc.
The bike was nicely cleaned by the guy who was demonstrating the bike and its various controls, like how to reset/set time and the trip meters, and what to expect from the bike until the first and second service. and i tipped him too.
Me and my wife both were there, they gave us all the documents and (they only do TR and not permanent registeration) familiarized me with the registration process. We did a quick fix pooja of the bike in the Service Cellar itself, and i asked them about leg guards to which they pointed me to a kid who operates a spares/accessories store nearby. We took off checking the kid's store (and not liking his prices) we went straight to the RTA office to get the bike registered.
Here in AP almost every one has a two part first name and then middle name (too in two parts often) and a surname. I am from mumbai and have a different name format, somewhere between this difference my name was incorrectly registered in the TR (which skipped my attention while taking the documents, as the Display name was correctly mentioned).
it took me 3 weeks, of following up with RTA office, approaching an agent, and agent incapable of handling things, getting the RE store to accept their mistake, waiting time at RTA office as it at the same time 2 different MVIs got changed at the RTA office, getting the name corrected and finally getting the Permanent Registration complete (day before the day before yesterday.)
By this time i had become a familiar face as well as friends with everyone at the Store as well as at the RTA office. The bike had completed its first service and whatever changes that the delivery guy had said will happen after first service, had happened (like smoothing out of the 1st and 2nd gear shifts, etc)
It was only on the day all the paper work was complete that the enthusiasm of getting the bike suddenly dawned upon me
and now i came back to this Thread.The bike has been a good choice and it is everything that i though it would be and, i will be putting up more about it as i take it for long rides (do note that long will be really long as my commute itself is a 100Ks daily, and that's also how the bike finished 450 kms on its 3rd day after delivery itself
)
