Pardon me if I'm wrong, but from what I've read the only difference between the cbr650f and the z800 is the extra 20+ kmph top speed and a faster by around .5 secs 0-100. Do the upside down forks offer better cushioning?

Actually the ceeber has a better top speed about 248 kmph... The z tops at 230-240 as because of its naked nature.Originally posted by leech View PostPardon me if I'm wrong, but from what I've read the only difference between the cbr650f and the z800 is the extra 20+ kmph top speed and a faster by around .5 secs 0-100. Nobody buys a naked for the top speed anyway.Originally posted by leech View PostPardon me if I'm wrong, but from what I've read the only difference between the cbr650f and the z800 is the extra 20+ kmph top speed and a faster by around .5 secs 0-100. I think it is the top speed on Dyno or some crazy malaysian doing god knows what crazy stuff. In my experience I felt it will top out at around 235ish. I weigh around 72 Kgs.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostActually the ceeber has a better top speed about 248 kmph... The z tops at 230-240 as because of its naked nature.
CBRs throttle response is maybe too linear after you get used to it. It helps in easier riding in traffic, but on open sections might lack that fun factor.
I will be posting my 2nd service update and the install of Akra update very soon.
My top picks will be Z800 and the CBR650F.
CBR650F offers better seat comfort for rider and Pillion and wind protection. After sales is cheaper, atleast for the first year as they are offering first 3 services free (No Labour charges). They are offering extended warranty for around 2.5K.
Z800 is more powerful, smoother, more fun to ride, better equipped. Now comes with a couple of nice color schemes too.
The choice out of these 2 is really tough and will depend on personal preferences and maybe intended use for eg. for more highway sort of riding CBR might be better. Although not that you cant do it on the Z800.
Test ride both if possible back to back and get the one you like more.Last edited by rachitkdogra; 05-19-2016, 11:57 PM.Rachit K Dogra

Haha I'd love too but Honda n Kawasaki don't offer any test rides on their bikes, atleast Honda for 650 and Kawasaki on all their bikes :/ ... I don't think I can test ride one unless I buy one.. Recently Yamaha released a faired version of the MT-07 called MT-07 tracer.. Do keep your eyes peeled on this bike, the price point, a smoother engine that the kwacker twins 650 ..Originally posted by rachitkdogra View PostI think it is the top speed on Dyno or some crazy malaysian doing god knows what crazy stuff. MT-07 Tracer will awesome for India if launched at good price.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostHaha I'd love too but Honda n Kawasaki don't offer any test rides on their bikes, atleast Honda for 650 and Kawasaki on all their bikes :/ ... You should tell them that you are seriously looking to buy. They should when they are offering test ride everywhere else in the country.Rachit K Dogra

Unfortunately rachit they don't, I think Kawasaki are selective in offering TD , its understandable till u book you can't test ride it, and as I told you the Honda showroom handling the CBR 650 are extremely poor n money minded... I haven't even seen 1 CBR 650 in my city yet. Its good too see other cities with better dealerships offering good experiences of buying. I had written to Yamaha about the tracer, they did call me back last time on a r3 enquiry. Now if they do , I'd love it if they introduce this vehicle in a year or two would be ideal.Originally posted by rachitkdogra View PostOh Yeah!! From what I had heard initially, they had plans after an year of the launch for more colors.Originally posted by leech View PostI've seen 2 cbr650 in chennai last month. Are they going to put up new colors? The gun metal grey is freaking awesome. So unobtrusive.
Not sure if the plan is on track or not.Rachit K Dogra

[MENTION=79821]Deathwing[/MENTION] bro, from your statements I think you love CBR650 more than other bikes and my opinion is go and get the one you like. You won't regret it.Last edited by Shyam Cmr; 05-21-2016, 06:08 PM.

Hahaha I like it, but benelli is offering a better value for money, Kawasaki is a option, but CBR is practical, but honestly I'm holding on for the yamaha MT-07 tracer atleast in a year or two, I'd see myself going for that, it will be in a good price point, and the bike is a overall great package, only a matter of if Yamaha have any plans in the future.Originally posted by Shyam Cmr View PostAnd the sound of i4 engine with ixil exhaust "Roaaar" [emoji7][emoji7][emoji7]

The versys 650 does 90% of what the Tracer does.
Or go the whole hog and get a Tiger 800.

True that but the engine on the yam is way smoother than the kwacker, and also tracer personally looks a lot better than the versys. But as u said versys is probably a better off roader than the tracer, depends if Yamaha release the bike and how they price it.Originally posted by HyperRetard View PostThe versys 650 does 90% of what the Tracer does.
